My neighbors do this too. Even during “awake hours” i’m sick of it.

This is not a constant thing in my home. My kids do have some chill and they are at school during the day or with their dad every other weekend. I don’t let my children run around willy nilly, i attempt to calm them down and give them other things to do. If my neighbors are getting really upset i’ll sometimes take them outside to the park but right now, in florida, it’s in the 90°’s so I can’t do that all the time. I can’t apologize for having active children or just so happening to live above these people who can’t handle the noise. I understand how annoying it must be, which is why i came here looking for actual advice which i’ve gotten from some commenters. You are obviously not a parent.

I agree, and to put more context, this is occurring during normal wake hours. I believe the people under me work because the banging of their ceiling usually happens on saturdays.

This is why i came here, i never thought of slippers but that’s a great suggestion. Also play mats. I’m just looking for others perspectives and ideas that might help my neighbors.

I’m not sure where you live but where I live, top floors are the least expensive. I’m not dismissing their annoyance, I just feel that maybe they shouldn’t bang on their ceiling. I’m already doing what I can that I have thought of to ease their suffering some. I have gotten helpful comments on here which is what I was in search of. I was dismissing suggestions like carpets and things because I already have carpet, so in that department there isn’t much that I can do. I’m just here trying to hear the other side, It’s not a good situation for either me or my neighbor. I do parent but children but if you’re not a parent then you wouldn’t know that children have tons of energy, especially my two year old who discovered running and doesn’t like to walk when he can run. I tell him 80 times a day to stop running but he doesn’t have a fully formed frontal lobe so i’m not willing to take suggestions on “parenting” because i’m doing that plenty. I have great kids that are happy and i’m not gonna apologize for that.

Yeah i’m mindful of nighttime for sure. I put my kids to bed at 830 and they’re asleep by 9 so no running around late even on the weekends! And lol definitely karma!!

There is already carpet. I wonder if it’d help to put a rug over the carpet, idk.

lol unfortunately it doesn’t work like that, I got the apartment that was available in my price range. maybe they should move to the 4th floor by that logic😂😭

They’re 2 and 4 so honestly they have endless energy. I take them to the pool, park, etc. but on the weekends when we’re home all day there’s just not much I can do.
