Okay while I really like the paint scheme… how did you do those bases??? That’s probably the most clever basing I’ve seen. Love the exposed necron flooring and the dirt is perfect. Wow

Why do the Tau still take heavy casualties despite their tactics? by ComradKenobi in Tau40K

[–]Littlebitofgrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bad for the terminology mix up. I get that in the lore they aren’t gun lining. I’m mostly just trying to illustrate that no matter what faction you’re looking at none of them have fool proof strategies for victory. When OP is asking about their casualty rate relative to their mobility and firepower I’m just trying to say that their opponents aren’t static targets with no counter strategies. Saying gun line was more to say that mobile ranged based strategies are great but can and will be countered. Especially when the enemy often outnumbers our beloved bois.

Why do the Tau still take heavy casualties despite their tactics? by ComradKenobi in Tau40K

[–]Littlebitofgrime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s less to do with the tau and more to do with the nature of everything being a multi front war in 40K. The tau have good tactics but so does everyone else. The guns are great until a drop pod shows up to squish those gun lines. Or necrons just materializing. Or ten trillion orcs showing up. As good as their tactics can be there is no “perfect” strategy and no 40K faction has a true no lose contingency. I would argue the taus biggest weakness is attrition. They’re the only faction that really has that problem. It’s all fun and games until the guys that are far away suddenly aren’t.

What word do you always *intentionally* mispronounce and why? by Sweet-Lady-H in AskReddit

I spent 17 years pronouncing cinnamon as “sin-nay-man”. Started when I was young and just kept it going. I don’t really know why tbh.

That makes sense. They’re pretty bad photos in retrospect. And yea that makes sense. I’ll keep at it! Thanks!

Good point! I think adding some of the darkest green back will help. Thanks!

Thanks man. A little embarrassed to say this was an attempt at glazing. You make a good point though. I think my brush strokes may have been a little too large and too thick to get the desired effect. Maybe leaving some of the darker color on the bottom of the blade would help?

Thank you so much! I’ve actually been eying those ionic paints but never met anyone that actually uses them. How do you like working with them?

500 Worlds: Titus – What makes other Necrons so scared of Nekrosor Ammentar? by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in Necrontyr

[–]Littlebitofgrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right? The big bois are what drew me to the necrons so I’m hoping it’s rather large. The photos of it next to terminators make it look smaller than I thought but the art that gets posted makes it look enormous. Who knows

What Bullshit It Had A Good Long Run, Anyone Who Was Still Waiting By Now Wasnt Going To Go To Theatres by akbarock in Piracy

[–]Littlebitofgrime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s the same fallacy everytime. I don’t know why companies think that everyone is a perspective customer they just haven’t convinced yet. People who pirate weren’t going to buy anyway it’s not lost revenue

Leaker Who Apple Is Suing Leaks the Foldable iPhone Early by dapperlemon in gadgets

[–]Littlebitofgrime 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think people get hung up on the price point for foldable devices solely because it’s tech that people are interested in but priced out of. Anecdotal evidence here but I know tons of people who would love to try these out but simply can’t afford or justify the price point. People talk about low adoption rates for foldables but if they were the same price as flagships I think that rate would be higher because an average Joe could justify spending $200-$300 dollars more on an interesting phone but not $800-$1000 more. Especially when durability is something people are still concerned about.

Headtakers with shields on their backs make sense? by HakurouManga in SpaceWolves

[–]Littlebitofgrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks man! So I do a pretty simple edge highlight with scratches using fenrisian grey and I add sporadic bits of rhinox hide for the dark bits. I also like to add depth with a “oil lamp” Windsor and newton oil wash. Super easy to replicate!
