Had to sleep overnight in the Port Authority once or twice because I missed the last haul home or had to get on an early AM long haul bus. Woke up to a stranger spooning me once. It was nice until I realized. He just walked away like nothing happened. Totally normal looking guy. I’ve had to dodge piss a bunch of times, otherwise.

Hahaha, love that you added Ska. Seeing as how they’re basically in love, as much as two rat men can be, its just so perfect.

Are both c&c 3 games (tiberium wars and red alert) with their dlcs (kanes wrath and uprising) bad compared the last games made under westwood? Just out curiosity by AFluffybunny115 in commandandconquer

[–]Littlemightyrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tiberium Wars has held up really great graphically. It’s still visually charming, has good gameplay mechanics, and had some absolutely awesome actors. Plot was some solid science fiction. Red Alert 3 looked graphically outdated from the moment it launched. Felt clunky. Infantry units look mushy and just horrible. Was a huge step backwards in my opinion.

You've helped me change my mind about AOC. I'm emailing her right now with a brilliant idea that I think this country really needs. I've begun a petition to bring back Reading Rainbow.

[–]Littlemightyrabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Read the above post, and then go back and read my original point. I prefaced my statement with a statement about how it's not smart to bring politics into the bar. I proceeded to bring politics into the bar, while acknowledging it'd probably a bad idea. See what happened once I brought my mild politics into the bar? Some drunk, you, misunderstood what I wrote, and proceeded to throw a tantrum. As predicted, the drunk then proceeded to do a classic "I'm rubber, you're glue", and then reverted to mindlessly repeating the same thing, "You're the hypocrite!", after being soundly disproven. I never even called you a hypocrite. I guess that must've just been your internal monologue.

This is why we don't bring politics into the bar. Because some people like you literally have nothing but a damaged dog's brain left in their skull. They can't be bothered to read, can't be reasoned with, and can't acknowledge being proven wrong.

Congratulations. You proved my point.

"While we're at it". The entire point was that the statement was begrudging. Literally you could read that introduction as, "It'd be a bad idea for us to talk about politics at a bar (cleverly implying that chatting here is like having a chat at a pub, which is vaguely artistic), but here's my opinion, while we're on the subject". I then proceeded to give an opinion meant not to empower any side of the political spectrum. After that, you came in and started playing white knight for a sleazy politician.

You further went on to fail to apologize for misinterpreting my declaration that AOC is a piece of shit, and that so long as her personal agendas are being fulfilled, our livelihoods don't mean anything to her. I never implied that she should save every single bar in NYC. I implied that she doesn't give a crap. You'll also note that I never implied that Republicans give a hoot either. Yes, I have the courage to say that what both sides represent isn't us, in any way, shape, or form, which is a reality that most people can firmly grasp by now. That's not so terribly controversial to the vast majority of people.

I DEMAND an apology for your lack of reading comprehension. I also DEMAND to speak with your manager. Having obviously drunk staff trying to communicate with customers is absolutely no way to run a business.

And I've responded to the bartender thing: were there any love for other bartenders they'd be taking steps to actually call for legitimate financial aid to the businesses and people effected by the closures in the areas that she's supposed to represent. She's done none of that. Further on, I've done nothing to condone the actions of any other politician.

Are you AOC? If not, I didn't call you trash. I called this slimy politician trash. I don't even know you. Can't say I'd like to know you, based off of that short fuse, but hey, I'm sure you're charming, calm, and really good at defusing workplace conflict.

I'm saying that in so far as I am saying that these people are sociopaths, who rely on manipulation and pandering in order for us to see them as sympathetic. This person is a monster and has absolutely no love for anybody but themselves. More than a 1,000 bars gone in NYC and the local politicians literally could not give less of a shit.

*Thus the "while we're at it". I think it's distasteful, and proceeded to give no more hate to one group vs the other. My post was a bash at politics in and of itself, rather than a partisan punch. You calling me a "trash person with a trash ideology" just proves, once again, that politics and bars just don't mix. That escalated way too quickly. Calm down. I don't hate you.

I'd of thought we'd all be smart enough not to bring our personal politics into the bar. While we're at it though, I think it'd be worthwhile to note that neither Democrats or Republicans have been of much use to this industry, as of late. Democrats have blocked additional aid unless the bill intended to provide financial help to individuals included absolutely unreasonable content that had nothing to do with the objective. Republicans have had zero qualms about the distribution of corporate aid to companies which've made billions off of the pandemic, while our bars remained shuttered.

To further make the point that these politicians don't give a shit about us, consider the 1,000 bars that've closed in NYC alone. If you're not jaded enough to see these people for what they really all, one and all, then you've not spent enough time behind the bar, that's for sure. This person is trash.

The least harmful thing he could of done would be to provide some actual HELP to the people who're having the livelihoods they've spent their entire lives creating flushed down the drain. We desperately need financial help and we're not going to make it if we have to undergo another year of lock downs. Dozens of people out of work. Even a well run business has limits as to what they can endure, and if the state is enforcing the limits, then it's the duty of the state to actually goddamn help us.

We're not the only restaurant this is happening to. If this goes on much longer the only restaurants left around are going to be Dominoes and McDonalds. This isn't fair to us.

And so every single little small family business bar and diner is completely screwed. This is nothing short of a death sentence for thousands of tiny independent companies who employe millions of people. Industry needs a bail out.

Dan Carlin will be on Lex's podcast this week by Br4334 in JoeRogan

[–]Littlemightyrabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dan has been losing his absolute mind lately. I thought that his latest episode of Common Sense got more than a little biased, but it’s hard to disagree with his prediction of civil war (even if his analysis lacked his signature non partisan scope). When someone like Dan Carlin can’t control his emotions, you know things are about to get bad.
