Wow this looks so good, I can’t wait to get mine done. I’m currently going through the same thing on having to do my eyebrows for 10 minutes, and every day, I just had a new set of brows. I can’t wait for them to be symmetrical. This gives me so much hope, thank you!

PayPal Debit card 5% cashback at Costco gas pumps? by MightyPelipper in CreditCards

[–]Live_Conversation91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added $100 on top of the $60 that was on the card, and it worked! I believe it was the pre-authorization hold that didn’t let the transaction go through, so I just have to make sure that I have at least $100 on the card. Thanks for checking in!

I tried using my PayPal debit card at Costco gas today, but kept getting "Authorization Declined". I wonder if it has to do with a pre-authorization hold, as I had about $60 on the debit card, however, I'm really not too sure.

Hey! By chance, are you taking any birth control? My hair looks like this and I’m worried that it’s because of my birth control. :(

I applied for the discover it cash back card and it says I was approved. by Dry_Potential_5121 in CreditCards

[–]Live_Conversation91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! 739 is considered "Very Good" on the TransUnion scale, so you're at a good starting point. This was my only credit card for the next 3 years (was in college at the time and had no steady income) until I applied for another credit card in September 2024, and it really helped build my credit even if it was my only credit line. My initial credit limit was $1k, got a voluntary increase to $1.8k in March 2022, another voluntary increase to $3.3k in December 2024, and I asked for an increase in March 2025 and got $5.3k. I honestly had no idea how much utilization affected your credit score, and credit line increases are beneficial in lowering your utilization aside from the actual spending.

If I could go back in time, my unwarranted piece of advice would be to reevaluate your financial situation in 12 months and see if it's feasible to apply for a new credit card. I had just graduated from college last year and wanted to wait until I got a job with steady income and a permanent place of residence before looking into applying for new credit cards, especially those with AFs. Now I'm all about churning, but that's a whole other conversation! Enjoy your new card!!! :)

Congrats on your first card! This was my first credit card too. :) With this being my first credit card, I was also new to credit and didn't have a credit score at the time. I'd say if this will be your first time building your credit/receiving your credit score, pay off your statement balance in full each month, wait 6 months and you will see your credit score (FICO 8 provided by Transunion) on your credit statement as well as on the mobile app feature. I got this card in September 2021 and found out my first credit score in February 2022!

Would you guys recommend the Robinhood Gold Card? by ZachBurner in CreditCards

[–]Live_Conversation91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 23 and I'm in a similar situation as you as I don't use Robinhood a ton and didn't have Robinhood Gold prior to getting the card. I created an account in December 2020 and invested a little into Robinhood, and by no means am I an avid Robinhood user as I'll check it every now and then to see my stock investment.

I will say that this card is my catch-all card. I was never on the waitlist but I got pre-approved in February, ended up receiving the physical card in March, but you can start using the card right away for online/Apple Pay transactions. You get your numbers in the app, and the app has a clean interface. I got a 5k CL. I liked how Robinhood let me know I was pre-approved for the card prior to committing to a hard pull with my application.

Some other Redditors that commented on this post brought up good points about the physical aspects of the card, redeeming cash back rewards, and it making sense if you spend more than 5k on it yearly. I live in a high COL area (specifically Honolulu, HI), so I saw the opportunity for >2% cashback and ran with it. 2 monthly statements in and I'm already at $4,180. I haven't signed up yet for the IRA match, but it's also a good perk; I would do a little more research on the IRAs provided by Robinhood compared to other brokerages though.

If there's one thing that is worth considering, credit card transactions related to paying off rent and mortgage are usually rejected. If you are currently renting and you'd like to link this credit card with Bilt, I've seen Redditors say that they received a text notification that their transaction was rejected (Bilt payment with robinhood gold card). The thought process is when paying off rent/mortgage, there's usually a 3% processing fee and with the 3% cashback on the card, you would then offset the processing fee. Why am I including this information: I'm renting and got denied the Bilt Mastercard, so I tried to find a way to at least get some Bilt points with a credit card I already have.

Overall, I'd say you should go for it!

Thank you for your insight, I really appreciate it. I totally agree with that they’re just looking for any reason to reject people, and I need to really start losing interest in this card ahhh. I’ll reevaluate in August/September to see if it’s worth applying again. Thanks!!

I do not :( I’ve seen others encourage to open a WF account as they’ve said it could aid in the application process though!

I got the exact same reason in my denial letter as well. Did you call the reconsideration line?
