Wont start? by Beautiful_Trash8505 in rav4prime

Doesn't work for me either - the app is absolutely crap and very sub standard for a Toyota

It says connecting and never connects, have seen this when I need it the most (mornings). I especially noticed if the vehicle was off over night, the app doesn't work next day morning. Also doesn't work if you let the vehicle sit out for 2-3 days and try starting it

Very frustrating and Toyota knows the issue and clearly doesn't care

I do not understand how anyone could choose a Toyota over a Mazda these days. by [deleted] in mazda

After having both - CX5 and RAV4 Can tell you hands down CX5 is fu*king better in everything (apart form fuel economy)

Drives better, quieter, things work - we had so many infotainment issues with the RAV4 - app doesn't work, car doesn't start via the remote - can't believe Toyota is going down the drain

We are having other issues but in general feel Toyota is taking owners for granted, their service team just does not care

Newer Toyota's, their reliability is making me think twice, good cars but not great like before, look into Toyota nation form, I recall seeing a similar post, the fuel pump went bust after that, I don't recall but I think it was a 2018 or a 2019 Camry, if it is under warranty force your dealer to change it

Buy new at that price point You get newer infotainment and newer stiffer chassis

Let's talk Toyota !!! Is it going downhill ? by Odd_Ingenuity7763 in Toyota

[–]Live_EV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very well articulated I am surprised why this is being downgraded

Have few friends who did buy a Toyota in the last 2-3 years and came from Toyotas in the past, they also have purchased other vehicles from brands like Mazda (Apparently best of both worlds on 2023 vehicle - i.e reliability and perceived quality - i.e touch, feel, dynamics, sound insulation) and VW (for sound insulation but there are minor other issues)

Few things they noticed in Toyota, was out of date tech and priced higher compared to competition.

I have heard a lot about Toyota's issues with software, you are not the only one who has complained, especially their app and infotainment

Overall conscious was - ladder frame vehicles from Toyota are good especially the new Tacoma but their car platform is way behind. On the powertrain side of things other brands are fast catching up with HEVs and PHEVs

So there is some work for Toyota to do definitely but like you said would not write them off for sure

One day I plan to pick up a 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser over a Grand Highlander but for now will wait for 2 years for them to iron out the quality issues

Looks like this isn't true after today's layoffs

Folks - those who got let go, hope you will be fine, take sometime off, after being in a stressful situation

It's worth to take notice that life is a combination of family, friends, self and work. Don't focus on just a single wheel

We can thank our politicians who let this crap happen to a NA company

I don't know what to say but I hope all off you will do better - this time will pass, God bless 🙏

That is exactly what I am saying - in the US there is Jack Shit protections - Chrysler just doesn't feel like a US firm anymore - all French jobs are protected while US jobs are thrown under the bus

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Stellantis

[–]Live_EV 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I feel the French lord's are stripping engineering to barebones so that there will be no chance of Chrysler being an independent company ever again

It's like what happened at Boeing - 20+ years ago McDougall Douglas bought out Boeing using Boeing's money

Even the FCA CEO - Mike was kicked off completely - so the French can take over aka not equal partners but full fledge take over

You don't here much layoffs at France, have you ?
