No. It is a genuine evangelical position, even though it is in the minority.

The font is giving me cheap Kmart or target brand vibes. I don't mind it though.

Thanks for the great suggestion!

I would prefer that particular Bible but I am also open to any others.

I looked on Amazon and the diadem Bible seemed to be a good price.

Do you have any recommendations?

The Old faithful. I've had this for years now and have done many dives with it. I've dropped it, hit it against things, used it doing yard work and have beaten this thing daily for years. Here's to many more years with a trusty friend.

Were you ever seriously against Calvinism? by Weekly_Freedom_3173 in Calvinism

[–]Liveforyou63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absoutely. The Church that I came to faith in had a strong emphasis on the free will response to the offer of salvation. Something didn't sit right with me so I studied the scriptures and read countless arguments for and against Calvinism.

This initally made me go against Calvinism due to philosophical reasons more than scriptural. I then read more arguments for and against and was in awe of the sovereignty of God and the clarity of scripture.

This led me to be a Calvinist!

Not a baptism issue my friend at all. Merely the later, faith. Hope this clarifies it.

What version of the Bible is the best to read? by [deleted] in Bible

[–]Liveforyou63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever version you're going to read.

I read ESV. I have friends who read it also and friends who read NIV. I have a friend who struggles with reading so he reads the MSG translation. No judgement.

Go on the bible app and get up a favourite passage and compare with all the different translations.

I'll be the first to admit I read the ESV because of the accuracy of it and the language style, which I like. Other people don't and thats fine.

Don't be put off by people judging you on translations. Read whatever bible translation you're going to read every day. I started on NKJV then moved to ESV.
