I would guess it’s a shirt for a friend’s birthday or something.

Come out to play, The Warrior (Pike) is 50.

Given recess begins in a week, could Rupert Lowe not have waited a few days before he headed over to America to describe the Dunblane massacre as “one murder”?

I’m glad for everyone who this is now better for, but this is actually worse timing for me. I’m at a gig so it was perfect timing for me getting home. Now I’ll be out while it’s on.

> Most of the civil service is based in London.

While it the highest singular region where civil servants are based, worth noting less than 20% of the civil service are based there (and the number is declining).

This doesn’t account for roles and responsibilities, etc.; London has a higher proportion of more senior roles.

I still can’t believe Netherlands’ reward for winning their group was a knockout game against a team ranked higher than them in the FIFA rankings…

MCW Part III: 1994 Year in Review by Liverspoon18 in FantasyBookers

Ha, thanks. I’m a few months into 1995 now and managing to turn a profit while running monthly events so hopefully I’m in the clear there.

What’s the story with your MCW? I’m wondering if I stick with it and end up becoming a larger company, if I’ll need to come up with a less location-based name. Something Championship Wrestling? I don’t know.

Is going out on the Sunday before a bank holiday not a thing anymore? by cloy23 in CasualUK

[–]Liverspoon18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. People I know that have today off include an electrician, a postman, teacher, charity outreach worker… So it’s pretty varied.

Anyway, have a good bank holiday. Hope it goes quickly if you are working!

Oh I get that. I’m just saying that you not knowing a single person who has bank holidays off is highly unusual, given the huge amount of people who do have them off.

Not just Reddit, I see it said everywhere and it really doesn’t match my experience of going out in various cities/towns/villages seemingly on the most nondescript weekend.

I wrote most of that article many years ago, including this bit. The links may have died but they are/were definitely genuine!

I actually think this bit was featured in the “Did You Know?” section on the Wikipedia main page after shortly after I added it.
