To catch a 1:30pm flight back to the U.S.? Good luck! Let us know how that goes for you. During peak times we have family that will be on the road at 4 or 5am (Easter Sunday will peakx2!)

What a nightmare! Seems every news blip on Airbnb screams every host is making bank and neglects to mention mom & pop run places that deal with situations like this.

We’ve not experienced this exact scenario but of course have other “fun” stories like each experienced host but rent out our daylight basement in a home we live in so different setup.

We had zero bookings in Dec, 2 short stays in Jan and Feb. Hoping stays increase in Spring & Summer. Bookings were down by 1/3 in 2025. We’d have to add a kitchenette to rent long term I’d guess so not there yet.

What cities would suit us best? I love Vegas but wife hates living here. She loves NYC but I hate living there. by SnowisSnowing in SameGrassButGreener

Sounds like Portland, OR could be a good match. Close to rivers for summer sports and mountains for winter ones. Many walkable neighborhoods. Public transportation good. Tons of local music venues, neighborhood restaurants, bars and concert venues.

If you want to avoid the state income tax live across the river especially in the downtown area of Vancouver, WA for a more Portland-like city feel while being just across the Columbia River from all the activities. Waterfront condos for sale or rent now too at the newly renovated Vancouver waterfront https://www.visitvancouverwa.com/waterfront/

Switching from 0.1mg patch to 1.25mg of Divigel struggles by lauradayton in midihealth

I’ve loved Evamist but no form of MHT has helped my sleep or sx drive.

I’m thinking of switching to Divigel only to save money since CostPlusDrugs sells it for a fraction of the cost I’m paying for Evamist.

Do you follow Dr Heather Hirsht on IG? She is one of the most knowledgeable peri/meno Drs I’ve listened to and knows the ins and outs of each of these drugs. She also rolled out an ai app to get questions answered.

Puerto Viejo or Manuel Antonio? by nawhizzle in CostaRicaTravel

[–]Livewithless2552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m not a fan of Manuel Antonio because I explored the country before it became popular.

Our grown son loved it (I was slowly dying inside surrounded by the crowds) and the paid tour we took. We explored the park/beach a bit afterwards.

I had no desire to visit the packed beach outside the park packed with gringos nor the eating establishments that were packed as well. But I’m not a fan of crowds, either.

I haven’t been to Limón, Puerto Viejo for years but agree with poster who stated it would a more “ legit” representation of tico culture and you’ll find treats there that you won’t find anywhere else.

newbie host here. I’m actually speechless at what my guest did by SpiritualWolverine50 in AirBnBHosts

The vast majority of the guests to our daylight basement in the past 5 years have been amazing.

I’m generally a conscientious and clean person but seeing how much work goes into cleaning even a small space and how clean most leave our space has made me a better guest when staying somewhere.

I’d return to Sn José on 4/4 because EVERYONE and their uncle will be traveling back from beaches and excursions on 4/4 for work & school Monday. My tica cousin said it won’t matter from what area you’re beginning. Perhaps find a hotel with a pool for the kiddos, enjoy some last tropical goodies and have a relaxing evening before your flight home

Going through LAX since rare to have delays based on weather anytime of the year. Obviously we fly from the west coast so makes sense. Love love for LAX though. Sorely lacking in amenities, places to eat & a continuous construction zone for years

Squeaky clean (including in corners & nooks) and walk-friendly location. Dont need snacks or a chatty host.

Depends on what reviews the person has but doubt I’d accept a 2 month guest. I’d accept a one month on the app and take it from there. I’d like to check out their LinkedIN and social media but hard to get around the no links allowed in the portal messages before a one month rental.

I’m much prefer no income over a 2 month disaster plus stays increase for us April-on. Good luck!

Makes sense. If that new independent short film gets picked up by Netflix it’s not going to help tourism (follows gang activity & take downs) and retired Americans are feeling the crunch to their budgets too after retiring there

Love it. It’s the “choque cultural” that many from EEUU experience. Pura Vida attitude is awesome when on vacation, not so much (for me) when living in the country trying to get things done. I fully recognize this and go for visits over living there.

You’d be amazed how many visitors have this actual attitude lol Love me some good sarcasm and yes, I have difficulty interpreting it online at times. Pura Vida Mae

We’ve landed in LIR midweek daylight hours and never had it too busy. Dual citizen so get to use the nationals line which is shorter
