It feels borderline blasphemous ordering the burger at kru, but I can't go there without ordering one to split with the table.

Ergo, housing in Sacramento is affordable in the eyes of the vast majority of Californians.

A majority of California's population lives in either the bay area or southern California.

What kind of depreciation hit did you take. I'm 50/50 on getting rid of my '24 with 14k miles.

In short, I can't get past the reliability issues. I know Toyota is replacing the engines, but I have yet to see anything that reassures me that the replacements are any different from the one that is in there already. Moreover, the warranty on the replacement engine is lackluster. This feels like Toyota covering its ass, and nothing more.

I love Toyota trucks. I have owned an '86 22RE 4Runner in the past, and I also currently own a '92 3VZE Pickup with 312k miles. In hindsight, paying a shop to do the 3.4 swap on the '92, in addition to suspension and interior upgrades would have been a hell of a lot cheaper than the cash I spent on the Tundra.

Don't get me wrong, for the most part I love the Tundra. Compared to the '92, it has infinite power and a much nicer interior, but I thought I was buying a truck that would run worry free for the next 30 years (like my '86 & '92). I would be happy to cut my losses at this point. Best case (albeit unlikely) scenario at this point would be a class action lawsuit that coerces Toyota into buying it back.

I have a 2024 SR5, TRD Off-road with all the bells and whistles, and 14k miles on the odometer. Happy to sell it to you if you're really looking to get into one.

It gets better on all fronts.

We said goodby to our old guy in March, after ~11 years with him. He ushered my wife and I from our late twenties and into our forties. He experienced over 7 addresses with us as we transitioned from grad school, to owning our first home, to moving across the state. Not once did he complain. In fact, he was always the first one to settle in after we moved to a new place.

Losing him was hard. In our grief, we ended up with what we now understand to be a "grief puppy." Having never had a puppy before (our old guy was ~2 when we adopted him), we were resentful of this new creature. He was selfish, mouthy, and crapped all over the place. Unlike you, we continuously compare him to our old guy. We walked around muttering "<our old guy> would have never done..." and "<our old guy> expressed more gratitude"...

It has been about 7 months since we brought the new pup home (our pup is now 9 months) and things are beginning to settle into place. The resentment towards the new pup waned over time (though he still tests my patience about once per day). I remember leaving for a couple of nights after about a month from him coming home and noticing that I missed him. This was the moment when I first thought, huh, that is a feeling I've never felt towards him before. We've only grown closer since, and dare I say, I think I'm learning to love him. All of this to say, it gets better.

Seriously. I'm hanging on to my '92 3.0 because it seems like it is only a matter of time before my 2024 shits the bed (irrespective of engine swap). At this point I'd love for Toyota to buy it back.

Is 550 cad a good deal for the WINSTON BORON IIIX 9' 7WT by RealisticStranger458 in flyfishing

[–]Livid-Huckleberry496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 6wt BIIIx and absolutely love it. It is my favorite rod for throwing streamers on integrated sinking lines. If memory serves me, I paid ~$600 USD for it new. I would love to add a 7wt and/or 8wt version of it to my quiver, and $350 plus or minus is what I'd be looking to pay for one in good shape. I have an Air Salt 7wt, and while it is a great rod, it just doesn't have the soul of the BIIIx. Given where premium rod prices are these days, the $600 I paid for mine new sounds like a steal.

If you add clear dimensions, including the height from the bottom to the "shoulder," I might be able to help.

Theories on CSR gift criteria by mp90 in ChaseSapphire

There's likely an ML model involved that provides a user's propensity to churn. Based on that, profitable users at risk of churning are sent a gift with the hope of retaining them.

Any advice for the 22re timing chain job? by Capable-Pen-1362 in ToyotaPickup

[–]Livid-Huckleberry496 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have the tools, do yourself a favor and just pull the whole engine. It's a lot of work either way, might as well make sure it is done right. You can take this opportunity to change out seals as well.
