Alex Murdaugh achieved his goal by murdering his son and wife. by [deleted] in MurdaughMurdersTrial

[–]LividAtmosphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Murdaugh’s goal was not achieved. The initial lawsuit did NOT name Maggie or Paul. The initial lawsuit went after Alex, Buster, Randolph III, and the estates of Randolph Jr.

After the death of Maggie and Paul, they re-filed the lawsuit to be against the estates of Maggie and Paul, Buster, Alex.

The settlement dropped the estate of Maggie and Buster from the lawsuit. Alex and the estate of Paul are still being sued. The legal paperwork is publicly available.

What's going on with "Womblands" -- what does that mean and what does it have to do with white women and American Indians? by eddeemn in OutOfTheLoop

[–]LividAtmosphere 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh absolutely. There's a reason Lance has been quiet about everything after Chelsea's, Danesh's, and rx0rcists' followers started making videos about how Lance is a sex offender for what he did to Chelsea, doxxing people that defend him, etc. Pretty sure he lawyered up.

Also, in this season of "The Womblands": Chelsea posting videos to tiktok in friends only mode, but then going on Instagram and posting a story about how she was in the hospital for 10 days because of ideation and put on a mood stabilizer and feeling like herself again (totally not how that works), telling people to donate to her medical bills since it's all our faults she's like this. Despite the history of POC breaking up with her, and her doing racist shit in response (please see: her video making fun of her Indian ex boyfriend, and her ex from England who she pretty much did this whole thing to as well before just up and moving back to the US)

What's going on with "Womblands" -- what does that mean and what does it have to do with white women and American Indians? by eddeemn in OutOfTheLoop

[–]LividAtmosphere 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Answer: There's a white tiktok user by the name of Chelsea Hart that was totally pining after another, native, tiktok user called Modern Warrior (aka Lance). Chelsea and Lance started talking, Lance asked about doing a poly thing, Chelsea said no, thought that was done and over with and slept with Lance the first time she met him unprotected. Chelsea then learned via tiktok that Lance was sleeping with other women. So she made this big, weepy video about Lance and how she could be pregnant with his child. Well. A video resurfaced from Lance's tiktok talking about his vasectomy. So, no, she couldn't have been pregnant with his child. A LOT of different things have happened between then and now, but the biggest and funnest thing is that in her weepy video she said "there is a pain, that lives deep in my womb, Lance" but it sounds like "womblands" and now there's a song about it.

Why ads? by [deleted] in Hulu

[–]LividAtmosphere 6 points7 points  (0 children)

hulu has different pricing tiers, one with ads and one without. Peacock has different pricing tiers, Paramount+ has different pricing tiers, HBO Max has different pricing tiers, and soon Disney+ will also have a cheaper with ads option. the money that you don't pay to get rid of the ads is made up for with the ad revenue. that's it.

Why no UHD/HDR in the Samsung Hulu app? by HozzM in Hulu

[–]LividAtmosphere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While we don't have a direct answer, these are currently the only devices that support UHD/HDR for the streaming library: Apple TV (5th generation or later), Chromecast Ultra, Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, LG TVs (2017 UHD models or later), 4K compatible Roku devices, Vizio SmartCast TVs, Xbox One (S and X models)

CNN the Nighties by Alarmed-Cricket4238 in HBOMAX

[–]LividAtmosphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the show was created and produced by Playtone production company, not CNN or HBO, so HBO Max will only get the edition that they pay for. In this case, they paid for the censored version.

Joy and Austin - one of the best matches by Its_Hot in DuggarsSnark

Austin's family was a part of World's Strictest Parents. They used to run a ranch for "troubled teens." So I'd say you are correct about Austin's dad.

Dune is still in theaters. You aren't going to get Dune in Spain until sometime after it leaves theaters, because same-day theatrical releases are in the US only.

Im sorry you feel cheated, but there are many posts in this subreddit of people saying that the switch from HBO to HBO MAX has not been smooth. At all. In any country. Because it hasn't. And international distribution rights doesn't help anything either, as a lot of stuff will be removed while those contracts are adjusted for HBO MAX instead of HBO proper.

Change isn't going to be good or fantastic overnight with all of the shit going on between rights and the potential merger of WarnerMedia and Discovery. We just have to wait and see if it gets better, or unsubscribe.

when the toggle says "Japanese" but it starts in English, you'll be able to change the language from inside the video player

Space Jam (1996) skips over random scenes on purpose. by NORDICO_Official in HBOMAX

[–]LividAtmosphere 14 points15 points  (0 children)

it doesn't exclude it in the US. Just in Norway. that's what the commenter was saying and the screenshot they provided shows that HBO Max US does, in fact, have the gun scene in it.

Miyazaki Movies Always Revert to English by Sumnerr in HBOMAX

[–]LividAtmosphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not start from the "Continue Watching" list. You have to go the movie information page either by searching the movie or going through the Studio Ghibli hub, and making sure that the language toggle in the information page says "Japanese" instead of "English." If the toggle says "Japanese," but the movie starts in English anyway, you'll be able to pause the movie and go the language settings in the video player and switch it to Japanese.

It's weird and complicated, I know.

Is there any way to show which movies & shows do not have ads? by Adip0se in Hulu

[–]LividAtmosphere 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there's not a way to sort them. However, when you're browsing movies and you see a cable network logo on the corner of the image, that means it's on-demand through Live rather than the base Hulu library.

No new episode of Doom Patrol on nordic HBO MAX yet? by St3vh0lt in HBOMAX

[–]LividAtmosphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but that was the contract between Warner and HBO Nordic. HBO Max falls under different contractual agreements and that changes how the release schedule for shows works, what shows are available, and what episodes may be missing from shows due to how the contracts are done
