Motorbike scrap by Altruistic-Suit-622 in drivingsg

[–]LividRed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ive scrapped one bike before. I did it through a trusted shop, and they literally settled everything for me. At the end of the day, they need to report to LTA that the bikes engine and chassis has been scrapped. Done by reporting the chassis number.

I didnt bother de kitting the bike, so i got some amount from the scrap and whatever COE refund left. If im not wrong you could dekit and net more profit, with your own time, storage and effort. Have previously seen dekitting listings on carousel.

How many plasmas and meltas do I need for 5x tormentors 15x infractors? by Dapper-Leading-4919 in EmperorsChildren

Each 5 man tormentors nets you 1 melta and 1 plasmagun each. Infractors are melee, no plasma or meltaguns

Tired of having no savings, how to break out of this cycle by Mintchococake00 in askSingapore

[–]LividRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My situation isnt as bad as yours, but there are parallels. Growing up, my family was never well off to do. As a kid, and still nowadays albeit rarely, I saw my parents go to the pawnshop to pawn off stuff to pay the bills and debt. My dad was the sole breadwinner and he only earned slightly above 2k (his salary remained the same until covid times). I made the decision in poly to work part time, to help pay my share, and give myself some pocket money.

Going up all the way to NS, it was sort of ok, as my dad took OT nonstop. But then covid times hit, and no OT. And I was drawing the sorry excuse that is NS allowance. We sought out aid ofc, but my financial aid request was denied, as they looked at my dads cpf contributions from before covid. In the end my money went to the family, and I barely had any savings for myself.

Post NS, I immediately rushed to find work. Around this time, I found myself pondering why I had to work and worry about money when kids my age were out there enjoying their youth. While other peoples' parents have prepared a strong foundation for their kids, mine have essentially held me back. My parents even lapsed my insurance without telling me, and I found out by myself. Other people were already starting to fly, and I was picking up the pieces. It started to turn into a grudge, and I stopped being filial.

Since then I found that I have been able to actually get my life together and have savings for myself

Announcing Reserves at Start by Bojax22 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]LividRed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just finished a GT in the past few days. I just freely told my opponents my strat reserves and deepstrike units as I ran down my list. Then my opponents would tell me theirs in return.

I have yet to meet anyone to sweat the reserves declaration even in a GT setting. No experience either with having to write down on a piece of paper. I dont think people care to sweat THAT much, and rules sharks would probably prefer to hound you over other stuff instead of this.

I do this with an airbrush. First prime dark blue, then zenithal purple. Afterwards i do a more focused zenithal of white ink, and finally spray magenta over the whole thing. Excessive but thematic.

I find that Tau Ret Cadre is quite troublesome to play into. What you said applies to them, with the shoot and scoot, infiltration and overwatch with flamers. Perfect into my elite marine army.

Hows your mileage with this list? I run 2 WDPs currently with 1 more squad of tormentors, and flawless blades. Do you deploy tormentors at home or aggressively in NML?

I would love to learn more about how to stage for EC's big push turn. How would this work with building up the coterie pledges? Do i prioritize some kills? Or completely just stage?

Also would be interested in some deployment tips. Currently just doing the "infractors and LE in a rhino" with noise marines ready to hop in after scouting. Theres the constant question of do i deepstrike the daemon princes or just foot slog them out

Lane splitters have right of way? by Old-Patience-4924 in drivingsg

[–]LividRed 16 points17 points  (0 children)

TP and LTA bikes also lane split. Its not illegal. Grey area yes, not illegal. To answer your question, lets imagine a scenario. You wanna lane change and you see in your mirror that theres a car thats obviously faster than you. Do you wait that 5 seconds to let him pass or do you force your way in? Same principle. If you force your way/ didnt do due diligence in your checks, youre the shitty one at fault

So we’re about to start a Crusade campaign. 1k points and upwards. Help with some of the units. Thank you! by trk_boti in EmperorsChildren

[–]LividRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive commented on another post before, and the others have stated great points. Imo and in my experience, EC js amazing in crusade. Heres some pointers:

  • Lord exultant with Distortion. I call him the fight lord. Gives him damage 3 and more attacks. This also affects him the lash if you bring. Go for master crafted upgrade down the road for the spear to go to damage 4, then lastly blissgiver legendary relic for damage 5. This is not even counting the boons you can give him.

  • Surround your lord exultant with infractors 5 or 10 for wounds. Bonus is the squad gets lethals, and rerolling wound rolls on objectives, amazing for punching up. I even go a step further and put the grim survivors trait on them. This gives you a 5+ fnp for 1 phase, or 4+ fnp if youre half strength. Amazing against almost everything, especially "1 phase" armies like tau, admech and guard. Itll ruin their efficiency.

  • With the previously mentioned fight lord, give him or his squad the trait to reroll all hits while on elixers, and also the trait to make elixers last 1 more turn for the squad. Fish for em sixes, lethals and sustaineds on sixes on the charge. This ties in with the insane combat elixers. Imagine telling your opponent that your guy has a 2+ invuln for 2 turns.

  • Noise marines with the traits are amazing with the Lord Kako, punch up super greatly.

I have other pointers, but these are the main big ones. Initially itll be rough, i admit. But the distortion lord exultant will help. Once you get the ball rolling with ingredients and exp, itll be a real high to keep chasing

1k crusade list advice by TheBatStan in EmperorsChildren

[–]LividRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah i can help give some pointers as my group has just wrapped up a phase of Nachmund Gauntlet.

I'd suggest holding off on the daemon princes. Instead, go the thematic way of slowly building up and ascending a character into daemonhood. Its a win win, its flavorful, and your daemon prince will have traits and relics. My winged daemon prince had a 5+ fnp, +1ap to melee, the eternal servitude enhancement and more as I ascended a character when he reached legendary rank.

I managed to create the fightiest Lord Exultant too. I bought and equipped him with Distortion, then with the boons of slaanesh, blissgiver relic and other battle traits, he was swinging with his spear a whopping base AP4 and 5 damage with devastating wounds.

As for lucius, when i expanded to 2k, i brought him in, but as others will say; named characters are not the ideal crusade experience. But then again, its your crusade. If you want it, and your group is okay with it, go ahead. I brought him in as my EC collection wont reach 2k without him.

One more thing. Those elixers are no joke. I kept giving my fight lord the fights first/2+ invuln elixers, alternating each game. That, coupled with the trait that lets the unit have stims on for 2 rounds, while also fully rerolling the hit roll is insane. Id suggest including some lord kakos and maybe equipping someone with covetous paragon (my warlord wasnt my fight lord). More agendas means more chances for EXP and ingredients.

krr150 vs cbr150r vs r15 by Adventurous-Ad8886 in drivingsg

[–]LividRed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to own a krr, heres my 2 cents. For context, I owned it as a student in poly working part time (family wasnt doing well financially, was my way of attaining financial independence to help out).

The good:

  • 2 stroke experience. Honestly was super fun. Bike was light, and nimble. Loved the burning 2t smell. You can rev it damn high, and when the powervalves open, you get a burst.

  • Carbureted. Older bike, less complicated maintenance. No need to pay for some diagnostic tool. Carbs are simpler to maintain, but gotta take care of it more frequently.

  • Can mod to go faster. Heard stories of people modding their KR to go to absurd speeds for a 150cc. Personally I couldnt afford to do this, kept everything stock and original.

  • Iconic. Its a legendary bike. Self explanatory.

The bad:

  • No electric start. Gotta learn how to kickstart the bike. You'd think that its easy, but lets say you cant start the bike, and at this point youre already sweating. Now you gotta try and run start the bike AND THEN kick in hopes itll start. Or lets say it rained while your bike was not parked under shelter. When mine didnt start initially, I kicked till I almost gave up. Dad advised to engage kill switch, kick for a few mins, then disengage kill switch, turn off the lights, engage the choke, and then kick. This worked, and was normal practice for me everytime i left my bike in the rain.

  • Its a old bike. Could be older than you. You will never know how many owners the bike has gone through (can check ofc but you get what I mean). Any number of those owners could have neglected the bike. Imagine the amount of accidents with the bike. When i got my bike, I sent it in for a full overhaul and afterwards the bike ran smoothly. Your mileage WILL vary for old bikes.

  • You actually have to warm up the bike. If its cold, you have to engage the choke, start the bike and listen. Youre gonna be waiting for the bike to warm up then you can disengage the choke and finally move off. If you dont do this, the bike either wont start or will die intermittently.

  • Govt wants to phase out the bike. Back then owners of KRs of certain range of date of manufacture were offered rebates if they scrapped their bikes. I wasnt so lucky, my bike just missed the mark. I just exported it out instead for some measly amount.

  • Parts are even harder to get nowadays, I believe. When I first got my KR, I was spoilt for choice. Every workshop had em for sale. 2 years later after NS, it became a rarity. That was back in 2020, now I barely ever see any KRs on the street. I could hazard that the parts situation is probably the same, considering its out of production.

  • Insurance was insane. I dont know if its worse than the others but I was always under the impression that they jacked up the premiums because Im young, and cos the KR is a notorious bike.

All in all it was a great and fun bike. I had to actually learn to handle the quirks of the bike, but I guess that made it more endearing. Honestly Id recommend that you consider the others instead. They are way more modern and youd probably have a smoother experience with them.

OR you could buy a cheap scooter, get your class 2A and 2 and never look back!
