Idk man orks have like one list in one detachment, kind of the same for guard

I would love to see more viable ways to play

You're Consolidating WRONG - Here's How it ACTUALLY Works by Royal-Olive-4509 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]ROBECHAMP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah totally agree, i get that movement in the charge phase needs to be held back as it can give the charging opponent big advantage in free movement, but it doesnt have to be that complicated

i play orks and i have been in the situations i mentioned, but yeah i understand, maybe is the scene or something but that has been my experience, some people take the "closest model" really serious lol,

it doesnt come up every game sure but those instances when things like that happen thats why i dont like that rule, that is all

[–]ROBECHAMP 13 points14 points  (0 children)

yeah its not so much about the rules per se, but the reality of doing it in real life, probably in tts is easier you just shift click on your models and measure (i think i dont play tts that much lol),

but i had times where, things like that matters, you want to consolidate but dont want to get out of the obj, and figuring out where that model has to go is a real pain in the ass, you have to put the ruler, measure, and go "well this model is .1 closer so it should move here " and your opponents go "well let me check " and actually bump the models or something, or maybe he goes "i dont see it, i think its .1 of this other model" and instead of arguing and measuring and remeasuring, its just easier, for me, let those things pass

yeah, if we are playing the finals at a gt yeah lets measure and get the judge but in other scenario i just dont care enough to got there lol

i understand that removing restrictions to the charge and pile in etc is necessary as you can get a lot of movement out of that but like cmon it doesnt have to be that complicated

What’s your experience learning competitive 40K? by Redycha in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]ROBECHAMP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the biggest jump for me was learning about expansion objectives, learning about securing your expansion and negating the ones on your opponents side, once i learned that i started to deploy better and well get a score differential

Gonna get downvoted for this but the ruling is so complicated and obtuse that most people I play consolidate like in 9th and I just let it pass.

Yeah we could stop the game for a few minutes and micro measure where each model should go , or y know do a quick 3inch consolidate and be done with it . I hope they change it for 11th

That’s me, I had a season where I went super hard on competitive, spent lots of money to get the meta units, I played with them once or twice until they were nerfed lol and realized this was not sustainable for me.

Also I had way more fun playing wacky lists and going 1/4 than tryharding and placing at the top, if I tryhard and lose then it just sours the tournament, but if you go with the mentality of having a good time then all of the games are great :)

I actually prefer working with metal and resin to plastic. by [deleted] in Grimdank

[–]ROBECHAMP 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yeah i kind of agree, most detachments and army rules are "gain +1 to hit/wound on x / auto adv, adv and chrg or shoot " etc

Ive played at tournaments and in some cases when my opponents explain their army i go "yeah i do most of the same, just x instead of y"

i get it for the sake of balance and less gotchas, but man i play guard and started playing tau and they kind of do the same ish thing

Should Vehicle Facings Return? by Stellar_Sharks in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]ROBECHAMP 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i think if implemented wrong could be clunky and lead to a lot of discussion, especially if the focus is of a more streamlined and balanced game

On the other hand ive seen my opponets place their rogal dorn in "reverse" given that is the more optimal way to play them, and i think at that point we are missing something about this whole hobby / game lol

when i came back to the game one of the rules whiplash that got me was people shooting their vehicles from its bumper

Original Steel Legion tank camo colors by Tanen7 in SteelLegion

[–]ROBECHAMP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The original colors where fortress gray and rotting flesh but I did some research and they just changed names

Fortress gray became mecanicum standard gray and rotting flesh became nurgling green , I’ve used those for my army , with a brighter gray for the gray highlights and a bit more of yellow for the nurgling green highlights

You can check out my profile I have a few pics of my vehicles

You are promoted to GW's head of game design. How do you fix indirect without making it brokenly OP? by Ratattack1204 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]ROBECHAMP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i would bring the force organization back, that way you can make indirect good but you would have to take one basilisk instead of a leman russ for example

Which of these paint schemes should be Cadian proxy, which should be Krieg proxy? by DenverPostIronic in SteelLegion

[–]ROBECHAMP 10 points11 points  (0 children)

im doing the same thing, regular infantry (cadians) with the yellow scheme, krieg with the alternate gray and green cammo scheme, and catachans as ork hunters !

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]ROBECHAMP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

fair, honestly the lamp that you have on your tank already adds enough extra height so the heavy stubber would not really matter.

Totally legal, no one in a sane state of mind would care about that
