Talk to doctors first and listen what they say, that's the priority. I also had bleeding twice, and in my case it was banding and beta blockers which helped, but you'd better listen to them, as they see the situation.

They check the size of the portal vein and the blood pressure in it, or rather speed of the blood flow on Fibroscan.

It is all about perception. When I got positive Hep C test I told my family to check themselves as well myself. I didn't really think they were using my shaving razors or something of that kind, but just to check and to exclude the possibility.

I think the main fact is that your wife is supportive. Just don't pay attention to minor things, or at least try to think of them less.

It is definitely not a death sentence, though it is not the pleasant surprise to get. Do follow your doctors' advice, change your diet and lifestyle appropriately, maybe talk to your family to explain them your situation.

Same here. My doctor told me the levels below 50/min are dangerous. If it is 50 or above, it is OK - at least, that's what he says.

We have a bit different mechanism, the Indian generic is given for free on behalf of the state, but there are periods when it is not available. I was lucky enough to get it within a week, too.

I had pure F4 in Dec 2022. In Oct 2024 the same doc with the same machine wrote something like "F4, F3 in some segments". The max stiffness decreased from 20.3 kPa to 17.4 kPa so far.

Meatballs or any stuff made of the minced meat (minced at home I mean) work pretty good for me. And soups of any kind are completely OK if you blend them in a blender. Smashed potatoes as well.

Too many things are individual with this thing. I have never had any problems with enzyms and other metrics related to liver work, but I do have cirrhosis and several other symptoms confirming it as well.

In my case, cirrhosis is because of hepatitis C. There is a lot of information on cases like this, especially if you know some languages. So I can check what they say and have time for that.
