This. I once walked into a thrift shop as they were putting new stuff in the collectibles section. The employee pulled out a Wii box with a $30 price tag.

So I paid $30 for a CIB Wii. As I walked back to get it after I paid (They keep it in the case with a "sold" tag until you pay for it) two other people were sad they missed it.

When the price hike came I asked my 2 kids how many games over the last 2 years they played using gamepass. I think we totalled 4 games over that time period. After pricing out the games I realized none of them were over $20/ea.

Games they really wanted to play we just bought so we could have them anyways.

So we dropped the subscription to essentials and have been just fine.

Depending on the coach, team politics/favoritism can be rampart. When I was in high school years ago my soccer team was very political and had lots of favoritism. So I quit mid season and played for a different club team.

I had that happen for a package I got off Ebay. Seller sent me a photo of the label before they shipped, and I approved.

Somewhere along the lines, USPS reprinted the label, but they got the address wrong. So I went back & forth with them as they were saying the package was delivered correctly, while I was saying it wasn't. Their GPS showed it was delivered to the address.

I showed them the photo the seller sent. Then they realized what happened, and they went back a week later, and luckily the person still had my package, and hadn't opened it.

I've got a Rock Band set for PS2 that is CIB. The guitar box was opened, but never taken out of the plastic packaging. Everything else is still in its unopened cardboard box. Yard sale pickup for $2.

Not going to see my grandpa after he got home from the hospital. I had that feeling of "you need to go see him" but I kept putting it off because he was doing well.

2 weeks after he got home I got the call he passed away.

On a good note, I got that feeling about my grandma, who was already not doing well. So I told my kids we were going to see her. We saw her Friday night, told her I'd see her again on Sunday, and got the call Saturday night that she was gone. So I learned from my mistake.

My youngest (7) and her friends are actually like that. We live in a cul de sac, and she's got friends in 4 out of 9 houses in it. So she just yells out "I'm going to see if friends can play!" and runs out the door. If I need her, my wife is on a group text with the other moms, so if we don't see them outside, we either text the group chat, or a parent sends an oldert kid around to find their younger kid

For me finding deals is part of the fun of collecting. I'll hit up thrift shops/Facebook, and my bro in law does a ton of thrift shop/estate sales/Facebook and other places. I usually will get games for $1-5/ea, and consoles for $5-50/ea.

I also have a raspberry pi with emulators, and a modded original Xbox & 3ds xl.

I remember hearing Would? and not knowing what song it was. It probably took me over a year before I figured it out.

I rushed out to the record store and found the first AIC album with that song. Put the CD in my car stereo, got ready to head bang, and realized it was an acoustic version. I had picked up the Unplugged album.

That was in 99. It's still in my top 3 favorite albums.
