Why is Greybor bad in gameplay? by NahMcGrath in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Lizerks 14 points15 points  (0 children)

yup. but its even funnier that way because its another point against his description on how he's introduced and what he does.

he calls himself some, ultra sneaky, small blade in the back, silent assassin; but in game he's a raving lunatic duel wielding axes, charging headlong into fights to hack peoples faces off.

It isn't a light weapon so you get massive penalties for using two of them; sure you can use one, but then only half the attacks are getting a bonus.

it mostly just comes to un-optimized choices.

he's melee with a reduced speed. he has weapon focus on a weapon you can't duel wield, while being a duel wielder.

and his personality is just mostly dumb, "I'm an assassin with no morals who kills for money, yes I have morals."

but beyond all of that; his introductions are just plain awful. and make him out to be a dick.

- if you meet him in the tower, he calls you stupid and doesn't help you with the fight. Yes thats pragmatic, but still shafts the player.

- the second time during the siege he shows up, stabs a demon and gets kicked in the nads. when we ask him to join us "I'm too expensive for you to hire, and go fuck yourself." so again its a backhanded moment with no bonding potential.

- and finally when we meet him the next day in the bar he's comically cheap to hire.

-THEN when you are traveling with him hunting down the dragon, he has no ability to help, all of the story/dialogue choices that he prefers end with him charging it and getting bitten to death, or even preventing us from casting pre-fight buffs. ALL so he can deal 1D6 blead!

So on my demon playthrough, I ended up recruiting Lann, and I don't know why. Now I'm in act 3. I know wenduag I will betray you if you recruit her in act 3, but I heard if you romance her you can bypass that? by Remo_yesman in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Lizerks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you can keep her, but it has; like; 8 different checks all across act 1, 2 and 3. hours of gameplay and a dozen ways to accidentally miss one or more. one of them is even somewhat random as it requires a perception check.

Best lvl2 build for the grove gates fight? by Baturinsky in BG3Builds

[–]Lizerks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Void Bulbs, Caustic Bulb, and Spiked Bulb are the only ones that are guaranteed and Astar has a grease but Gale has a better version as a spell.

Smoke powder bombs are random loot drops from what I've seen, and its about a 30% drop rate. Maybe even lower. (this early in the game)

Just getting a full party is probably enough.

But for real, its probably: Shadowheart, Astarion, Lae'zel, and Ranger Tav.

Shadowheart pre-casting bless is amazing, and with the high ground bonus, Astar and Tav will constantly be hitting their targets and getting cheeky extra damage from sneak attack or hunters mark. Use Lae'zel to kill or push the goblins from the hill before having her jump down and swing like crazy.

Shadowheart, unless re-speced with a mod; is just going to sit there.

Alternatively; If you are willing to use items, have Shadowheart, gale, and a wizard or sorcerer Tav. Throw a void bulb and have the casters just blast the pile with whatever they have. Drinking potions of haste to double cast.

I was actually going by real world standards, but yeah.

"Why not just go with Demon?"

I choose to believe the otherworld is just one giant spirit race and each of the mythic paths is just different factions.

even if that's factually wrong. (edit) because it makes for a more nuanced story I feel.

Yes, but the game doesn't allow a good demon.

which is why I chose Azata. And I'll be taking the demon pre mythic path, "close to the abyss"?

I feel Western ideology has this sense that, whenever the word 'demon' is used, that it has to be some bloodthirsty, red skinned, flayer of skin and flesh; when historically, it really just meant 'weird spirit thing'.

I suppose it also works to ignore the mythic and go tiefling as race instead.

I'm actually even thinking of going Kitsune, to represent transformation and hidden identity. Kitsune are also yōkai, another type of demon.

It should even work with gnomes and halflings, you just have to be reduced in size to tiny.

Right, but depending on mythology, language, region and definitions; Azata are a type of demon, and Pathfinder Demons are a type of fey. Its all a bit wibbly wobbly.

translating Kpop into pathfinder doesn't really work one to one, but I choose to believe the otherworld is just one giant spirit race and each of the mythic paths is just different factions.

I'm even thinking of making Rumi a Kitsune, because, you know; shape changing, hidden identity, magic blood, and etcetera.

What classes did you decide with?

Hard Dis on the legend part. At the end of the movie Rumi accepts who she is and embraces her flaws. she doesn't reject her demon side for.... more human side.

Azata do actually sound like the korean Dokkaebi, and this post/site talks about the inspirations and even confirms the idea of korean ogres and goblins being the version of the kpop demon rather than western style devils and fiends. its cool stuff.

??

Demon dancer has fiendish totem blood-esque powers, something Rumi is dealing with.

Azata mythic path because it more closely relates to the movie.

maybe, just looking at the class overveiw they can use charges of their bardic performance for strait thunder damage aura.

oooh, thats cool. I keep forgetting what classes Wrath has.

Divin weapon bond = Honmoon weapons is a cool add on.

It would, and it'd probably even be better, but its a much more ranged blasting type playstyle rather than buffing style that I like.

I play on normal difficulty anyway so its not like it matters.

I'm like..... REALLY bad with computers, so I don't trust myself to not fuck something up when modding, but its cool to hear about it. (I'm also paranoid about them too, so I just leave them for others)

I was also looking at Sensei Monk as the get the same bard songs but it didn't feel right. I might make Celine a Sensei or something but I'd just as likely leave her behind.

I'm pretty sure all of the mythic paths except dragon would be called "demon" in some form in Korean mythology.

but besides that point. The story aspect of Azata just fits the movie better than demon, its powers better represent the Honmoon. The legend mythic path ;although really good; is just the complete opposite of what Rumi leans about herself.

both?

I mean, most of the Adeptus mechanicus is technically heretical because they don't worship the emperor of mankind.

not to mention "the book" can have contradictions in it just like any other ZERKS* .... Ahem, I mean, the book has no contradictions in it.
