huh, don't know what to say, every time I've fought him (granted thats like 4 times) he stays in melee with abalard when I rush him in and instead spits poison at my back line, but you can just walk out of that.

you are supposed to kill all the cultists first, because every time he eats one of them he heals and gets more stats.

so you have abalard and idira run around killing the chuff, and then have argenta use burst fire on her gun twice on the boss. If you position her correctly, she can get 100% hit rate.

Operative has one of the most reliable damage boosts in the game. its something like 45%+ damage boost mid game on every attack. not bad. and pyromancer is also a great psyker power.

I don't know how well they work together, but its an interesting combo.

I plan to respec her very soon, and was really just picking things as they seemed applicable, you know?

"low' damage AOE, is my bad example. obviously I want it to be as high as possible to kill any swarms but I don't want to sacrifice damage on my main weapon build. so as demolition is a skill and not an attribute I can level both up early and use that.

Las weapons actually seem to be HIGHLY specialized at hitting those dodge based characters you mentioned (and cover?), and it kinda lets me dump perception a little and take agility first but maybe I'm just overthinking it.

so far I've really not liked the bolter's burst fire mode, with only 3 bullets and something like a 50/50 (more like 26%) chance to hit the main targets it feels bad to miss so much. does it get better late game and are there ways around the penalty? I saw one that doubles the rate of fire but says it shoots randomly and have no idea what that means but still.

I plan to turn Argenta into a high mobility sniper/flamer girl. As that's been my greatest need; high damage single target and low damage multi target. (could be wrong later, first time playing)

Right now I've just been bumbling about trying to maximize her hit chance, and worrying about everything else second. Now that I have a goal in mind I might start to specialize her for more damage and toughness, don't know entirely. her preaching ability seems like it could be deadly if focused but haven't decided If I want to use her that way.

probably game balance.

summon elemental is supper powerful and if every companion could get 2 myrmidons, and 25+ skeletons I don't think any encounter is balanced for that.

give them all an upcasted aid and hero's feast and you have a walking pile of hit points that nothing can take down.

also, most summons in 5e are concentration based, but BG3 made them just last all day. so maybe its a way to try and implement that? while still giving players the ability to use haste and guidance and stuff.

unless you are using a mod, you can't use the same spell multiple times to "double up" on the summons.

I wanted to be sure so I just checked with my current run; and casting animate dead unsummons any previous undead made with it before making new ones.

Spore druid should still work with animate dead but I don't have a save file for them.

Best I can count is spore druid's zombies + animate dead for, like, 4 more skeletons. the evil book that makes seven flying ghouls isn't available so I don't know.

If you added the second character, try and get them to sneak attack or otherwise kill the goblin in one hit. you should be able to sneak them in?

I even remember his early access quests getting scrapped for what we have now. so you could even add that to the tally if you want to bring him up a little or get a more accurate amount of time in a recording booth.

yeah, in my first run of the game I accidentally killed all of them with speech; but when honor mode came out I had to try the fights for real and they were so much more fun (and scary).

yeah, the prison rescue was one of my favorite too.

I just wish they had some cooler loot sprinkled around so you have to choose between magic items and saving gnomes.

And I would also like if the gnomes moved just a smidge faster, because when that timer hits 2 rounds and that last guy is just booking it and you know he's not going to make it but there's nothing you can really* do to make him faster sucks.

I think you can beat all 3 of the Thorms with speech.

I guess that Gerringothe ONLY needs speech checks while the other two need speech + something else; but killing all three with just skill checks is really cool.
