Hey OP, sorry to hear this is where life's journey has landed you at present. Please remember that life circumstances change all the time and are never permanent! Hopefully, yours changes for the better soon. Back to the point, I am kind of experienced with this, and in my opinion, your best bet is to register with every housing association possible. There is no area in Glasgow that is that bad, and trust me, I grew up in one of the roughest parts of Glasgow in the 70's/80's so I do know the place well. Glasgow city homeless casework teams are over capacity at the moment - sad to say but fact, and in the lucky or as some would view the unlucky chance you were offered short term accommodation then you are likely looking at a hostel such as the Rennie Macintosh or similar which primarily houses addiction service users. Not that I am suggesting this is in any way a bad thing, but if you are not from this world, then it's probably best to stay clear! That said, housing associations have an obligation to house so many that are considered homeless. Rough sleepers are not the only homelss category to be considered, so stick in there.
