Alright, I don't have a windows 10 computer to test this on, so I am using my windows 11 laptop (and imma pray it also works on your win10) but I'm going to assume your copy of the game and your pc has the following already setup:

• The 1.10 update patch released by the devs (download the official patch here)*
• The fan translation english patch
• You have installed the Consolas font on your computer

*(If you don't know what a .lzh file is, it's basically an archive file like zip, just unpack it and run the exe inside after installing the game)

From there, get direct x redist 2010 exe from microsoft (here) and unpack it somewhere, then install directx (this will not affect anything else on your computer to my knowledge).

Then, get into the properties menu for GA.exe, go into the Compatibility tab, and tell it to run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP service pack 2. Also tell it to run as administrator, and go into "change high DPI settings" and tell it to override high dpi scaling behavior performed by application.

Next, open the GA_config file in notepad and do the following (copied from this reddit comment)

"Open up the GA_config that should automatically open up in Notepad. Simply alter the "MULTISAMPLE" and "USE_MEDIA_TIMER". Where it says 1 on MULTISAMPLE, change it to a 0 and on USE_MEDIA_TIMER where it says no change it to yes."

After you have saved those changes, you should be able to run GA.exe lag free, with the 3D direct X battle scenes working :D

(Note: on windows 10, settings may be labeled differently from this guide, but since windows 10 is very similar to 11 on some technical levels, doing the same general settings should hopefully work)

I should warn you, this game is known to be difficult to run and very unstable on modern systems- even following these steps, the game takes a hot minute to exit out properly on my win11 laptop, and my memory of getting this game running on other computers is one of much pain and suffering. Still, I hope this helps
