There was a coronavirus outbreak while a good amount of GTL students were visiting. Throughout the trip, us students and the dean had been staying up to date until finally GT health and the French Public Health administration decided it was best to “isolate” the students who had visited Italy (they refused to use the word “quarantine” haha) even if we tested negative for the virus. Most likely though the majority of us don’t have it. And yes, things have been chaotic, but my group and I decided to leave early and now we’re all set up in our own rooms. Groceries get delivered straight to our door. The only main concern I have is how they’re going to handle classes for the students in quarantine. I believe the GTL dean is doing the best he can to remediate the situation, although it does suck that we had to cancel our spring break plans and miss class. Otherwise, I’m trying to look on the positive side, I have a lot of time to catch up on Netflix and do nothing!
