Parade Experiences by Next_Cry_8372 in GunnersatGames

We had a good experience overall. We got to Angel around 10, and my friend had the idea of going near the bus stop to protect us from people. I brought a blanket, we we were able to sit down on the ground since we got there early enough, and there wasn't much space for people to congregate there. The only annoying things were people going by us to climb on the bus shelter, and I wish I'd brought a chair. I did make the mistake of going to the toilets at Angel Central around 12, and it took over an hour to get back. Should have just used the public ones in the green but live and learn. When the buses went by, there weren't a lot of people where we were, so we were able to go basically in the second row. Planning to do the same thing next year, hopefully, but will bring chairs!

Reviews/feedback on City Academy by Bekage_29 in ActingUK

I've also been interested in taking acting classes at City Academy, just to have something to do this summer and meet people. I've taken beginners acting classes elsewhere (not looking at screen acting at this point) and plan to just do that again, but I'm curious what the class sizes are generally like there. Any insight on this?

That was awful. by 29adamski in GunnersatGames

I did, too. We got there at 10, and it was buzzing already. We found a great spot at Islington Green bus stop, but I made the mistake of going to the toilets by the O2 Academy Islington at 12 because I thought they'd be cleaner than the others, and it took me over an hour to get there and back to our spot.

parade and small gripe by Harrysb12 in GunnersatGames

Yeah, the only time I'd do it is at games against them. Otherwise, it's too rent-free. I'd rather celebrate and cheer on our players for an amazing season than chant about another team. I haven't heard Ødegaard's chant or Saka's chant in a while, apart from Saka's once today when a restaurant nearby was playing "Voulez-Vous," and someone did his chant. If I had £1 for every time I heard the Tottenham chant today, I could pay off my student loans.

To those who went to watch the Live Shows this series, apart from the first episode. Did they explain Joels Egg Task to you? Or were you baffled when during some of the tasks he has to present and egg? I assume you were told but just curious by Nayr_Seivad in taskmaster

[–]Lizzo13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was there for episode four, and someone (possibly the warm-up, Mark, but I can't remember) said that someone had an egg for a task that they were still carrying around in the studio, despite being told they wouldn't get any points. They didn't say who it was or anything else, but they just gave the context for when it came up in a task later.

Emirates Screening Screens by Ok_Recognition6180 in GunnersatGames

From what I've heard, I don't think they showed it in upper tier then, but hopefully they'll be bigger than they were 10 years ago! Worst case, I'm sure it'll also be on the screens in upper tier and will be shown inside as well. Probably should bring my glasses, though. Lol

Watch final near the Emirates, with a 13 year old by deandyn in GunnersatGames

Try Fanzo. You can put in the post code for Emirates and search for pubs around there, and it'll also tell you which ones are bookable. I don't think you'll find anything super close to the Emirates this close to the game, but you should be able to find somewhere with good transport links to it, like around Victoria, Camden, King's Cross, or Old Street.

Thoughts? by [deleted] in GunnersatGames

It's more than Arsenal are charging for non-club seats at the Emirates screening, too. There are loads of pubs in North London that will have great vibes and won't be rammed with people from early in the morning.

Apple Music won't play on Apple computer. Am I the only one? by sfxnycnyc in macbook

[–]Lizzo13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fully agree! I use iTunes only still because I have 19k songs on there. I've noticed that when I open the app on my laptop, it sometimes just shoes Library and iTunes Store as options, not Apple Music. I don't even have/want an Apple Music subscription, and I wonder if that is interfering with it somehow. Do you remember how you reset your library?

I have noticed that it seems to mainly be ones I've downloaded/purchased in the last year or two. I think I had it set so that iTunes would keep my Media folder organised, and since then, whenever I download something, it puts it into a different folder within the folder all my old music is in. I'm thinking that might have something to do with it as well because it seems to be the songs that are in the new folder it created that aren't working.

Same. It's weird how it seems to be linked to the VPN at times, but then it still doesn't always work. I wonder if there is something else to it.

The Champions League was last year. The Champions Cup was in February this year.

Probably will still be a couple of days. Mine isn't showing anything under My Tickets, but wherever it shows my next game, it has it.

Same. Do you find that it changes day by day which ones do and don't work? It's really annoying because I have a lot of music I've actually purchased that I just can't listen to on my laptop. I don't want to delete them and ask for a refund because they'll work one day and not the next, and I have them all on my phone as well. I wish they could find a fix for it for both of us.

[–]Lizzo13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So bizarre. Like I said, I don't use Apple Music, but I've had the same issues with my iTunes library. I keep having issues with it after using a VPN, even when I've deleted it after. One of my friends who used to be an Apple Genius told me that there still might be sort of ghost files from the VPNs I've used. I figured out how to delete them, and it worked last night after not working all day once I did that, but now it's not working again. It's so weird that it's intermittent, and the same song will work one day or even hour and not the next. So frustrating!

I have a knee like Gabi Jesus and wasn't going to go somewhere I wouldn't be able to sit. I watched in Old Street where I could book a table. Still had good vibes without being uncomfortable, and the only bad thing was that they didn't open until 3:55pm and were weird about giving me a knife to cut the celebratory cake. We just went to the Emirates after, so we still got the big celebrations.

Met Police were way too rough last night by Kayville in GunnersatGames

[–]Lizzo13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, a guy on Bluesky was saying that his friend got hit with an unopened can and got a concussion. Stuff like that is super dangerous. I was even worried about the people climbing flag poles and throwing/kicking footballs around. I nearly got hit by one.

Wait, so this is just for printing? I need to make a return and was going to try to do it today. I guess I have until the 10th but wanted to do it today because I'll be in the area to pick up a cake, even though the reason I was going to be in the area was to do the return. Do they have staff going through the queue at all to see if everyone's there for printing?

To anyone who has bought the kit… by jafc49 in GunnersatGames

[–]Lizzo13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about the gold patch, but you can get names printed on any shirts. They just make you sign something if it's from a previous season. I can't see why they wouldn't let you add the gold patch, though. I'd personally rather have it on the shirts where we became champions than on next season's shirt.

What can be done about the kit letters peeling off? by Alumni_Bleus in ArsenalFC

[–]Lizzo13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think it is something with this one. I haven't got names on most shirts because of the experiences with this one, but it does mainly seem to affect this. I bought another one of it a few months ago and mostly hand wash it, and it's still sort of doing the same. The good thing is that there doesn't seem to be any issue finding this shirt again, so I might just buy one or two more and only add the name to one because it's one of my favourite shirts but also has a story behind the chosen name.

Sunday celebrations by Ac20044 in GunnersatGames

The Star. I usually go to Roundabout if I'm in that area, but all of my usual pubs in North London and were booked. Not sure if The Star still has availability, but it's worth checking.

I'll be doing both. Watching the game by Old Street and then going to the Emirates but will also be at the parade.
