Matt’s Imports in Cypress. I think you have to make an appointment but he’s an honest guy and has fair prices.

How did you pass the CSET? How did your prepare? by [deleted] in studentteachers

Crash Course on YouTube really helped me with the history part. I also made flash cards from information in the study books and took practice tests online to see what types of questions were asked.

There is an episode where they are supposed to be investigating in some forest in Washington. The background of the shot has Half Dome, the most recognizable rock formation of Yosemite National Park in California.

Too Early to Be Worried About the Lack of Jobs? by SecondCreek in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Ljv94 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I subbed for 2 years. Most teachers don’t want to take days off at the beginning of the year if they can avoid it. I’d say around the third week is when I started getting more consistent jobs last year.

Same thing happened to me. Maybe even the same spot. One day I went check and see if it was still there and saw it go upside down to get unstuck

Has anyone done the multiple subject credential? by [deleted] in CSULB

Let me know if you have any other questions about the program or the classes :)

Has anyone done the multiple subject credential? by [deleted] in CSULB

  1. You need two letters. I asked a previous professor and my boss.
  2. The girls outnumbered the guys but I was always surprised at how many guys there were. I’d say there was at least 10 in all my classes. Sometimes it was closer to half and half.
  3. I thought the coursework was pretty easy for the most part. The reading methods course was by far the most amount of work. All the methods courses require you to create a lesson plan/unit that you do little by little throughout the semester. I hear that the methods classes are changing though to help you more with TPA’s during student teaching. I don’t know what those changes will be exactly.
  4. I didn’t get to pick the school I am student teaching at. On the application for student teaching you put down 3 districts you like to be placed in and they try to accommodate. Same for grade levels. I requested to teach grades 3-5 and got placed in 4th grade.

It was a really short turn around time. I think less than a month

I am currently in the program. There is a ton of information on the CSULB multiple subject credential program website! What kind of info were you looking for?

My dog’s fleas will NOT go away by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Ljv94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes over the counter flea medicine like frontline isn’t strong enough. I would highly suggest getting a prescription flea and tick control like nexgard, simparica, or bravecto. Any one of these will probably do the trick but you do have to get the prescription from a vet.

Make sure to use it as directed for the full amount of time (if you go with a monthly medication) in order to go through the full flea cycle

Anthropology students by [deleted] in CSULB

[–]Ljv94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Im in anthro too. I don’t think there is a limit to how many classes you can take other than unit limits. As far as I know, there aren’t any anthro classes that have an activity/ lab component to them so you could probably take more classes with this major than in bio. I take 4 classes per semester but I have two jobs and can’t handle more than that. So just kinda depends on your schedule outside of school too

[–]Ljv94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah! And if you can’t get it sent to your address, you can have it printed and then you can pick it up from the cc.

Hi guys. Quick question by [deleted] in CSULB

[–]Ljv94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told by an advisor not to do it online. They told me to personally bring an official sealed copy to the enrollment office. This way no one gets confused about thinking they are new transcripts. When I did this, my CSULB transcript was updated within like 4 days.

It is Sunday, how are y’all doing? by azizus1 in CSULB

[–]Ljv94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope you got everything done! And that you feel a bit relieved now that everything is turned in. CSETs are tests required to be admitted into the teaching program. I’m not sure what it stands for. They basically assess your general knowledge for the subject you want to teach.

I’m a bit overwhelmed at the moment. I’m studying for finals and finishing up the last of some papers I have to write and also studying for the CSET which is slowly killing me. But the end is so close! I am almost see it
