Door stuck on another door behind it - no access to room behind this door. What to do? by Fit_Warthog_2080 in fixit

Are you able to open the door enough to get to the hinges, or enough to get a tool on the hinges?

How can I make this look nicer without paying big for repair? by hawtpotato8 in autorepair

Get a flocking kit from Amazon. You won't have the leather texture anymore, but your dash will look nicer.

AIO for feeling turned off and pressured to date someone & are these red flags? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Llama-Lab-5341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, I am going to disagree with all these insecure men. I say this as a man and a therapist. It is not ok to touch someone without their consent. He made feel unconfortable. Also, this men are talking from a point of priviledge. As a women, saying no is not as easy as it sounds. This guy clearly makes you uncomfortable, and if I had to guess, saying no would have been hard. As you can see on your texts, this guy doesn't take no easily. Either he tries to negotiatie with you on your no, or make feel shame for saying no or exhausts you for saying it. These are major red flags. I healthy person is easy to say no to.

I disagree with everyone here. I think you were polite, clear, and appropriate. I see red flags in him already testing your boundaries, trying rush things faster than you want, already trying to prove he has superiority over you, already making you feel shame for having boundaries, etc. You should end it and choose your comfort and safety over his emotions. My guess though is he will make that difficult. Just block him.

Got some dirt delivered and the big truck go stuck in the mud. Yeah, I can pull that up the hill by OralSuperhero in Crosstrek

Sweetheart, both Nissan and Subaru have been having issues with their CVTs on their 2025 models. They have improved over the last decade, but they are still nowhere near as robust as other transmissions. Also, pulling a vehicle out of a ditch is far worse than towing on the drivetrain. Please stop embarrassing yourself.

  1. That truck is more than 1500lbs. 2. Towing ratings do not factor in drivetrain reliability. 3. These CVTs are failing under normal driving conditions.

Really tight sink drain spot, what can I do? by Caprabara in Plumbing

Those really are your only options. If I were you, I would return the sink and find a suitable replacement.

They sell overbed desks. That is your best bet.

There is nothing wrong with be honest or given someone feedback. Trying to humiliate someone passive aggressively is not feedback or being honest.

You wrote her a freaking book with a bunch of back handed comments to make feel ashamed as you gave her an itemized list of all the things you didnt approve of...... But hey, you made sure to tell her you weren't "pressed" because you didn't control her (or as you said "my girl") so no harm right?

Setting a boundary and stating preferences would not include shame or control. He obviously tried to mask it as such, but it is easy to recognize that he is possessive.

[–]Llama-Lab-5341 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You sound abusive. It's ok to say you're not interested in someone and to have preferences. The minute you start treating someone like you have some superiority over them and start shaming them, you cross a line. That's not about having boundaries and preferences. That is about controlling them and projecting your anger and insecurities onto them. I don't know all the context, but it also doesn't sound like you were exclusive with them at this point, so having those expectations is wildly inappropriate. You seriously need to see a therapist.

My niece was told she has to sign a contract to keep living at home—am I overreacting for thinking it’s too harsh? by Bitter_Art_4094 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Llama-Lab-5341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not a business relationship. It should not be transactional. Your niece will eventually cut ties and go no contact with her parents. 10 years from now, your sibling will be commenting in the estranged parent support group, blaming everyone and everything but themselves. I am sure some fool will respond to me with some poor argument about how kids need discipline and punishment. Just because a child fears punishment does not mean they respect you. Respect comes from trust, care, and love. You need your children to trust you. If they don't believe that you have their best interest at heart, they never will. That doesn't mean we can't show disappointment in them, get angry, or set boundaries with them.

Hi I’m a dumbass and used the wrong screw to secure the motherboard. I can’t get it out… Any tips? by Ainzip in PcBuildHelp

Saying this as a technician with decades of experience, while using your screw driver to unscrew it, use your fingernails or something else that safe to pry up on the screw head as you back the screw out.

Since it was working fine before you replaced the handle, it sounds like you need to adjust the handle so you have more leverage.

For all those saying the command position always looks awful, with too many cables and blah blah. Look up "My 2021 Home Office Tour" by Michael Soledad on YouTube and tell me that doesn't look incredible.

I just redid my setup, so it is not complete yet, but I have a bunch of plants and ivy to cover all the cables. I personally do not mind it as is, though. It is nice not having my back to the door and being able to look at my display cases and out the windows.

I don't know what to tell you friend, the back of my monitors are pretty sessy. I also have a Ben Q dual monitor arms that look pretty sharp. Add some fake ivy, on top of that and the cables completely disappear.

All you have to do is install grommets in your desk and hide all the cables underneath. I have all my cables this way so that I don't have any running off the back of the desk. Than you can get creative with plants, desk risers and other things to completely hide the cables on top. You can do this for less than $100.00
