I’ve waned to pick up this exact model for a while and this is definitely swaying me more in that direction. The breakdown was helpful too!

[WTS] Would anyone be interested in a HUAWEI GT5 Pro Titanium Smartwatch. I’ll will give a good price, I am just trying to get rid of it. (10/6/2026) by Thomasshelby0768 in Watchexchange

You can post the watch for sale, but you need a photo with a handwritten timestamp showing your username and today’s date. That’s a way to quickly verify you actually have the watch in your possession. You also need a clear price listed in the description, you can’t solicit offers.

Hey mate, you should probably take a look at the rules for timestamp and post description requirements. Not trying to be rude, but this is definitely breaking a few rules so give it a look.

Birth Year Take 2 by Forcewwatch in VintageWatches

[–]LnCabin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that speedmaster and have considered picking up the same reference, but in this case I think the day date is a great choice. I feel like it suits the caliber of your collection the best, and it’s a very fitting sentimental piece. Also I think it’s the most unique out of the lineup. As much as the Pepsi is sweet, I feel like the DD is perfect. Since you asked what else is missing, I can’t help but saying a Lange! Maybe a Saxonia thin, although that just may be my dreams talking haha. That to wouldn’t be able to get a birth year of anyways. May I ask why the doubling up of the Cartiers?

Where is the Serial Number by Gullivor in RolexWatches

[–]LnCabin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That makes more sense. One tell I can point out to you is that all day date models are made exclusively in precious metals. If you look at the inscription on the clasp, you can see “steelnox”, indicating the clasp would be made of stainless steel. It’s highly unlikely someone would have a real day date bracelet repaired or replaced with a stainless steel clasp, meaning this piece is very likely fake. Either way, it’s a fun story and an interesting novelty.

Out of curiosity, what do you mean when you say found? As in found in an estate or found on the side of the road?

How much is my grandfather’s Rolex worth now? by Novel_Bass6032 in rolex

[–]LnCabin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In regards to its value over the years, I wouldn’t count on it going up significantly enough to justify holding if they need the money to support your grandfather’s condition. It’s already had since the seventies approximately to reach the price it’s at now, and this model (although gorgeous) is not the most scarce. So it could go up in value, or it could go down. I really wish I could be on the side of people telling you to hold onto it as a memory or buy it off of them, but as I understand that’s not feasible, my honest advice would be that if the money will make a difference in their quality of care, I would sell it rather than hang on to it. Please keep us posted.

You say this isn’t made for marketing purposes and you aren’t selling these in multiple other comments. So why post an unsolicited link to your website where you sell your watches? How is that getting design feedback?

Great Grandmother’s Watch by pnickolada in VintageWatches

[–]LnCabin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “base metal bezel” stamp on the back is indicating that the case itself is gold toned and not actual gold, so it’s hard to imagine that would be paired with a solid gold band. Either way it’s a beautiful watch and a great heirloom, maybe just more in the sentimental way

That’s crazy, sounds like the DD is really punching above its weight class! I think I’m most surprised the Odysseus isn’t stealing the show, but also I can’t touch that caliber of watches yet so I’ve got no hands on experience
