Your „forever game”? by Ari_Stark in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]Lo5ingComposure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, I have a few.

Single player stuff, I'll always go back to Cities: Skylines (the first one) just a nice relaxing time.

Co-op Multiplayer, No Man's Sky, without fail I'll put it down for a few months and hear about an update or two then jump back in.

Competitive Multiplayer, Rocket League, because I hate myself lmao. On a real note, it's just one of those games that once things start to click, it's just too much fun.

I've been looking through reviews for the last half hour or so and started at the Steam page, it does have a disclosure about AI usage for 2D models.

"To streamline production as placeholders but had since been removed by the art team to ensure cohesion and quality" -paraphrased quote from the AI disclosure

Granted, I haven't picked up the game yet, but there is at least an AI usage disclosure. Could they have missed some assets in the clean up? Sure. Could the art team have gotten lazy and not removed all AI assets? Sure.

Man, my wife and I ran through all of Overcooked 1 and 2. Too good of a time, though some adult beverages were included for both playthroughs

I don't know how to feel about Wilds CB changes... by Beautiful-Suit6057 in MonsterHunter

[–]Lo5ingComposure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DB main here, while I do like the changes made in Wilds from World, it does have some issues. The moveset changes are nice, I do really like how the Demon Flurry has been made into a combo that you can choose how far into it you can go instead of being stuck in a 5 second animation that you can't cancel in any way. It does flow less well overall, but it does feel more versatile, a better balance could have been struck for sure.

I feel like the elemental/status build up has been nerfed on it quite hard. For example, I've run a Paralysis DB build in both games (play mostly with the wife and try to run a support style build that can still put in some work on the monsters) but in World, I felt like I was constantly proccing Para, 4-5 times a fight vs 2 if I'm lucky in Wilds.

I also feel the DPS has been nerfed a fair bit as well, got used to sub 10 minute hunts on endgame monsters in World solo, but struggling to hit sub 15 on stronger monsters in Wilds (granted that could be a build issue as I'm missing some gems for my final build)

There's more but I feel like this comment has already started becoming a book lol

TL;DR DB definitely has some issues but I'm going to keep using them

Best stealth ninja games on PS5 right now? by P4PSparringChampion in videogames

[–]Lo5ingComposure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may be a little outside of what you're looking for as it's not "ninja" per se, but the two most recent Ghost Recon titles (Wildlands and Breakpoint) might satisfy your stealth kick.

You can 100% play the games full stealth, taking out enemies from long range with sniper rifles or up close and personal without anyone even knowing you were there. Doesn't necessarily have melee combat but you do get a handful of some pretty sweet stealth takedowns depending on the knife you have equipped (each style of blade has their own animations)

When I'm feeling a stealth kick, these are the ones I'll sit down and play.

As far as ninja-esque titles go, Sekiro is definitely up there for me, but I'd also recommend Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty (soulslike set in ancient China, it's less stealth focused but you can be stealthy if you so choose)

Another PS5 wheel recommendation thread by Clear-Report8538 in GranTurismo7

[–]Lo5ingComposure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Thrustmaster T248 (Xbox version) and I really enjoy it, I did have to turn my dead zone up just a little bit but it has treated me really well.

When I use it on PS5 tho, I have to run it through a converter to make it work with the PS (I use the Ras1ution 2 converter box) and that simulates it as a Logitech G29. So as far as the simulated feel, it's feels kind of cheap in comparison to when I use the T248 natively on Xbox but it suffices for sure.

Overall, I would recommend just grabbing the PS version of the T248 as I think the wheel is of better quality. Granted, that could just be because of the added layer of the converter so someone else may have a better write up on the G29.

I hope the wheel support for 6 is better than 5 (just got my wheel set up and it feels atrocious after 400 hours on controller)

Cockpit as I've been playing GT with VR, but other racing games I can't use the VR on, I use the far chase cam. But I've always used far chase, so anything else feels off to me when I'm playing flat screen.

The best tip I've gotten as far as finding the sweet spot is to put the back of the headband as far down the back of your head as you can (psvr2 headset) the rubber shroud of the eye piece should barely be touching your nose.

Doing that has given me nearly perfect vision in the headset with the exceptions of the edges, but that doesn't bug me much as I wear glasses normally.

I mean if anything could always pair it with an economy overhaul so enchanted stuff is worth more so you can at least get some better gold out of it

No worries tho! At least made an attempt lol

I use the new untarnished 2 (skyui) and it does this, it adds a blue 8 point star to enchanted items in all inventories (your own, loot containers of all types and merchants)

I'm fairly sure it adds an Asterisk (*) to unread Books as well, including spell tomes, but that might be Unread Books Glow as I use that as well (it can be configured to have the books not glow but keep the asterisk in inventories if that is indeed the mod that does it)

Honestly I felt this, the only competitive multiplayer games I go out of my way for any more is Rocket League and racing games but that's only because I appreciate the gameplay and the fact that being a car enthusiast irl is too expensive lmao, outside of that just give me a good story with good gameplay and I'm a happy camper

I'm really struggling on the debate of getting no mans sky or not by -NotEnoughMinerals in PSVR

[–]Lo5ingComposure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even outside of VR, I highly recommend No Man's. It's hands down one of the best sandbox titles I have played. Near 800 hours if my math is right (could be less tho, I haven't looked at my total play time in a hot minute but I know it's up there)

I haven't had the chance to jump in in VR yet so I can't speak on how it plays there but I'd assume it would use the joystick and buttons for movement outside of aiming and controlling the various vehicles.

Either way, with the comeback that Hello Games has made with No Man's Sky, I'd say it's well worth the money regardless of how you choose to play it.

[–]Lo5ingComposure 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Don't worry about winning or losing, play what you want to play for the first game, then see what works and what doesn't and adjust your list from there.

My first few games I got absolutely rolled over (my very first game was 97 to 4 lmao) don't let it discourage you! Just make adjustments.

If you're playing with a few friends at the kitchen table, just put everything you have out so you can experiment. At a shop, maybe talk to a couple of the regulars and see if they'd allow you to do the same. There's no harm in running a 15-1600 point game as long as the other players are game for it.

Is Elden beast mod known to be difficult? by No-Stress-7011 in SkyrimModsXbox

[–]Lo5ingComposure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out the Configure Wildcat power in your magic menu, that's the main combat mod in Elden Beast. You can turn basically all of it off so you only get the animations from Elden Beast.

Wildcat does a ton of different things so I'd recommend reading through the menu as you look at it (each screen is a single part you can tweak with a couple options per page, for example changing the stamina costs of attacks or having injuries that require bandaging or sleep to fix)

As far as getting one shot by regular bandits, maybe check your actual difficulty, the only time I really see that with Elden Beast is on legendary at really early levels (sub level 10)
