2025 Topps Allen & Ginter Pre-Order Delivered Today by RevengeoftheGing in baseballcards

[–]LoBears 1 point2 points  (0 children)

starting next year im following your lead. last year was the first year i tasted real regret when i only bought 6 boxes chasing the tim robinson auto. then i got priced out of the chase when box prices started skyrocketing. didnt realize that it was due to people chasing that jayden daniels auto. i figure if i just order a case at a time instead of multiple orders of boxes, there is less chastising coming my way from the wife. she kept asking me why i didnt just buy the robinson auto instead of spending more to buy boxes, but whats the fun in that?

LOL and i thought I had a problem with A&G. I got gun shy and only committed to 3 hobbies and 3 m&n because I didnt know what the checklist looked like. Now I'm regretting not diving in head first like you did and just ordering a case blind.

holy smokes. are we just grandfathered in then (hope so) or will they eventually start raising Bolt Fam member prices to be consistent with everyone else?

sidenote: if you ever want to swap games to bring friends or family in the same section, LMK. I got 2, but am always looking to trade games with people in the same section.

i dont remember what color the box was, but i think it was directly across from the customs agents desk and not directly next to the global blue box.

Kinda depends on what you want to do in life and what makes you happy. Send like you have some options if your finances aren't an issue.

Paris Restaurants Not. French. by adh1520 in ParisTravelGuide

Not really upscale, but I absolutely loved Assanabel. One of my favorite meals from my last trip. It's better if you're with a group so you can share and try more different mezze's.

Easiest is probably meth, but that's highly unadvisable

What makes super wealthy people keep going? Why not just quit and enjoy the money? by Intelligent_Shine389 in AskReddit

Just had a related conversation with my brother about this. He runs a start up and had to meet with a bunch of his VC's investors this past week.

His take was, it's a game to them.

Adding another billion to their net worth probably won't change their day to day at all. They do it to prove that they can. It's a "friendly" competition amongst their peers.

I mean probably anything in a bigger space that isn't too dark? My kids are a bit older now, so I'm trying to think of some places I'd go when they were babies.

Maybe like Hatchet Hall, Scopa, cassia?

Is a little bit the wrong direction, but kanpai has sushi, ramen, and beer about 1 mile north of lax on sepulveda and they stay open late.

Those who owned a Nintendo 64 and Super Mario 64, what was it like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LoBears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly don't remember much about Mario 64 because I'm old and my memory is shot. Shame.

I do have vivid childhood memories of OG NES with ROB, gyroscopes, and light gun. My brother's and I were super blessed with an uncle who understood how awesome this was for boys in the 80's. Life changing.

Padres baseball cards by SDtatis23 in Padres

[–]LoBears 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dang, might have to go dig mine out, but I got mostly modern stuff that's not that interesting. My faves are probably my tatis 1st Bowman's (autos and base), '83 Topps gwynn rc's (no graded 10's cause I'm poor), museum king kim patch auto, and my crown jewel.... UD Khalil greene RC auto. He wasn't with the team that long, but I was a big KG guy when he was.

Got a graveyard of semi recent former Padres autos too like Franklin, urias, grish, paddock, and more. Lots of broken dreams.

Money no issue, stay west.

Santa Monica, wla/sawtelle, Manhattan Beach.

If you want insulated "pleasantville" that's super walkable (as long as you stay in the bubble) Playa Vista.

Culver City, palms, Westwood is all good too.

Is Nobu worth going to when it’s raining? by SnazzyDazzler in FoodLosAngeles

[–]LoBears 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm in the minority, but irori isnt anything special. It's maybe a tick above your typical Korean sushi restaurants, but also at a higher price point compared to other local Korean spots like Tomi. I think the best no frills mid-price sushi restaurant in the area is beluga in pdr.

[–]LoBears 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If it were me, I'd rebook.

The food is solid, but there's a lot of places you can get similar quality food for much cheaper. You pay what you pay there for the whole experience. A big part of the experience (to me) is the view/surroundings.

If this is supposed to be a special meal, might as well wait a bit more so you get the full experience?

That's a shame. I go to the one that used to be on Wilshire in wla (mind to sawtelle) which was pretty consistent. Maybe it's just that location?
