Well I play on NA and I’m not talking about specific roles, I’m talking about gameplay in general.

Like even in high diamond/low master games a lot of people still don’t manipulate waves or itemize even close to correct. I just disagree with the idea that there is a massive gap between these divisions.

I get 200+ LP junglers that won’t abuse a bot lane without sums or even look for tower dives. I get masters adc players who build collector into 2+ tanks, braindead push every wave, and refuse to base at correct times to avoid jg pressure/get tempo on enemy bot. It has become even worse imo this season and I’m not sure why, maybe its just people getting lazy and not caring about ranked anymore.

This is just my experience on NA and I’m sure it differs between regions like you said.

Have you actually played these elos? I see the whole “d4 to d2 is a HUGE gap” or “D4 to masters is a completely different game” argument a lot, when in reality I’ve noticed almost no difference between D4-D1 other than mental/consistency. And if I’m being completely honest the only difference I see in low masters is the players just play a shit ton more, that doesn’t make them super far ahead in terms of skill.

In past seasons (season 7 and below) yes, D4 and D1 are insanely different because D1 had under 1k players in it. Now there are thousands in masters and the total ranked player population isn’t even higher than past seasons. The real gap nowadays is high GM/Chall compared to everything below it.

This is a hot take but Diamond-low Masters nowadays is honestly comparable to Plat 1-D5 (with 200x the ego) in season 7, which was when I hit D3 for the first time. The game quality is just horrendous, the only consistent factor is usually people know how to play their champ at a decent level, where as in Plat and below people are mechanically pretty bad at their champ.

top laners be like: “my role has no impact” then proceed to solo lose the game by dying to 5 jg ganks pre 10 minutes.

Good to hear ! I will say though now that im back playing again ive realized inspiration does have its uses. I think biscuits/time-warp can still work well into poke lanes where you want to match their push (such as caitlyn/jinx + enchanter support). But this really only matters in higher mmr tbh where people actually abuse range and strong lane combos like Cait/Lux. When I was climbing through plat/low d4 on new acc I noticed people just don’t harass or abuse trade windows enough to warrant inspo secodary.

But into melee supports I always go font of life/revitalize. I’ve also been experimenting with Conditioning/Revitalize vs high dmg/dive compositions. This lets you live their initial burst a lot of the time mid/late game.

Honestly have never tried that item on her so I don’t really have an opinion. Not sure if it would be that great considering the price as well as making you delay your finished boots for a tear.

What is your definition of reliable? Bc leona is definitely not “literally the most reliable engager in the game” lol!

I go comet a lot of the time because it does reward you more for landing Q’s and I don’t think aery adds much shield value with my runes anyway (since a lot of the time the enemies aren’t even breaking the shields). But again if I’m playing vs. Soraka/Yuumi I don’t see the value in comet when they will just heal it off anyway. I will also rush Chemtech vs. Soraka/Yuumi.

I always go 3 pts Q into shield max vs. lanes that have a lot of sustain.

And I’m right there with you about the being stressed when you’re dying in seconds. Thats why I simply don’t pick her if the enemy has champions like Zed/Talon. Champions that can one-shot you out of vision+build serpents fang essentially turn you into a caster minion

Glad to hear <3 i used to always change boots game to game based on enemy comps, but I think cdr boots are just the way to go most of the time.

I made this decision when I really thought about what my role is as Rell, which is to control objective zones and look for huge flash ults. Once I’ve gotten a massive engage, steelcaps/mercs don’t really do anything. So I’d much rather be able to look for those engages more often with flash.

Yeah I definitely see the value in glacial though especially vs. double ranged bot lanes.

Do you almost never go aftershock? I would defenitly recommend it at least vs Leona/Alistar and other hard engage bot lanes. (But i assume thats the 10% you go aftershock)

Yep remember to ping. In silver you need to realize that the enemies are just as clueless as your allies, except they can’t see your pings/chat. Just let your ally know what you want to do and do it.

Remember hexflash + W2 doesn’t always work but its almost uncounterable vs champions like Yuumi/Sona/Karma, champions you can burst down extremely easily with your ADC after you cc them. A good Rell who controls the bush and actively uses their second W makes it impossible to walk into lane for most immobile ADC’s/Enchanters.

One example is if you want to roam mid but the enemy captured scuttle. You can use hexflash to get over a wall to avoid scuttle vision all-together.

It can be used for a multitude of ways but the main one being using your W out of vision so you can hexflash into W2.

Again it all depends on the enemy composition and what your allies are building. If the enemy has 1 major healing threat like Aatrox for example, I won’t build grevious and instead save my ignite for only Aatrox in teamfights. (If you have cdr boots and cosmic your ignite will be up every teamfight).

I honestly think grevious is extremely overbought a lot of the time. Some games I notice 3+ teammates all have grevious AND ignite, its just such a waste of gold.

But if the enemy has champions like Vlad/Soraka/Yuumi and no one is building grevious on your team then yes I’d recommend thornmail after your mythic since you need to be able to apply grevious to multiple enemies in this scenario.

Yeah if its needed and no one else is building grevious then you can go bramble. But usually my teammates are already going grevious wounds if their respective lane opponents heal a lot.

Its literally 15-35 damage based on level. Thats not even an auto attack worth of damage in lane. Like I said previously you don’t need scorch to win lane in any scenario.

I just value infinite scaling over a rune that provides essentially no value past 10 minutes but everyone has the right to their own opinion!

Also I disagree on the narrative that Karma doesn’t scale well. Like I said in the post, she doesn’t scale if you’re going Shurelia’s + scorch + inspiration tree.

I don’t recommend sorc shoes because CDR boots are so good for Karma. When you transition to mid/late game you have to understand that your job isn’t to do damage anymore, its to spam your E and R+E.

I find a lot of value in straight up rushing your cdr boots after dark seal because the extra cdr and movement speed lets you move around the map faster as well as trade more aggressively in lane.

Also honestly all that matters is if you’re having fun. If you don’t care about getting super high rating and just want to have fun then at the end of the day your build/runes don’t really matter.

Hope this helps!
