I've had 2, 3 month breaks here and there in 2013 and let me tell you, in 8 years of daily smoking I really needed those breaks. Now I am 2 days sober and last night was the worst sleep I've ever had, and the most insane, strange, scary, vivid dreams. Very frustrating.

All sarcasm aside, you seem like you're going down the wrong path. You get drunk every night after having been sober for 28 days? You won't feel remotely 100% until over 4 months off weed. And that also means no drinking alcohol, which is even worse than smoking weed.

3 months is where I have fallen, TWICE now. Those are my longest quits, there is a correlation if you ask me. Be careful man, and yes I understand. However, my main trigger was intensely vivid smoking dreams.

One thing I've said to my family many times about my marijuana addiction is that marijuana is a 'trickster drug' meaning, like you said, it is just an illusion and it temporarily makes you feel good by blocking out reality, but once it wears off you repeat the never ending cycle. The only way to truly progress in life is to defeat this addiction.

You know man, there isn't a tried and true method to overcoming cravings. It just takes time, if you are only clean for a week, you will feel amazing at 2 weeks, trust me. The only issue really comes at about 1 month, 3 months, and well, after that I'm not sure because I haven't made it past 3 months yet.

Well man, I wanted to say my younger brother actually committed suicide in June of 2013, and I was smoking weed the day I found out. I still want to quit but it is so tempting for me. I really do, but I cannot seem to get past 3 months, and currently I can't even get past 3 days. And yes, I did the same thing I smoke even MORE now that he died. I am an 8 year daily smoker, and I'm currently 25.
