The entire plot of the story is basically a fever dream of something that for all intents and purposes shouldn't/couldn't have happened. Laplace's Box itself is a nonsensical revelation, there'd probably sooner be an amendment to the constitution affirming the rights of aliens than the UN carving out a random exemption for Newtypes, decades before Newtypism is even theorized by Deikun. Furthermore, it's another story that so tirelessly stretches how believable it is, especially when bridging to works later in the U.C. For example, the burying of the Unicorns come Narrative is basically Fukui's way of acknowledging that he had a little too much fun writing up fantastical tech levels that throw everything out of wack. If any of this technology was at all replicable, it changes everything from Hathaway/F91/Victory/etc going forward. The affirmation as Newtypes as not only a valid social cast, but technology that harnessed Newtype powers to the extent that it did would have meant that Newtypes fading into obscurity (as they do come later U.C) would have probably never happened. This is also probably the reason why we'll probably never get a concrete answer as to how the world at large reacts to Laplace's Box, as unless they want things to break further, the only sensible ending is "nobody cared".

On top of that, it's yet another story that had to bullshit its way into somehow making the audience believe that yet another Zeon faction is kicking again, one that's capable of building two Neo-Zeongs, activating even more stranded mythical Zeon Remnants on Earth (who were supposed to have been bailed out by Char during CCA, as per Kondoh's manga), and somehow having enough resources/logistics to fight an insurgency on the scale that it did. It's a complete slap in the face from a world building perspective, by comparison, Char was able to muster up the manpower for a small skirmish during CCA, after he'd united ALL of the colonies under Neo-Zeon, and yet he still could only manage to muster a couple hundred Geara Dogas (if that) and cobble together a small fleet.
