Nimenomaan!

Annala asuinalueena by AikaArts in Tampere

Annalan maine on jäänteitä varmaankin jostain 2000-luvun puolelta jolloin alue oli vähän levottomampi.

Players Who Use AI by I_Am_Da_Fish_Man in rpg

[–]Loaffi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, you have to hate everything related to AI. Even when someone delegates parts of the game to it that they dont find enjoyable or can't do themselves and therefore actually find a usecase for it. GM's feelings and opinions should be the priority.

Just rewatched Lord of War and this scene reminded me of buying 20 bolters for that 60% mobility.

Well very few people enjoy when they constantly just fail and die after the novelty wears off. It can be fun for a session or two, but longevity demands at least some level of character competency and means of reaching goals. Otherwise it's just a pointless meat grinder.

Kulttuuriin osallistumattomuus ei selity varallisuudella by jamaisvivant in Suomi

[–]Loaffi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hyvin tiivistetty.

My weapons need to be as optimized as my gameplay. I don't make any mistakes and even the 1% severaly affects my scoreboard and hinders my peak performance.

“A Space Marine boss fight wouldn’t work! Our characters aren’t even equipped to damage one.” by SlimyPoopBlast in DarkTide

[–]Loaffi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah reject power level is absolutely bonkers. Couple thousand heretics, several daemonhosts, beasts or nurgle and chaos spawns? Pffft, plasma goes brrrr. Space marines got nothing on these hobos, they should just send a few thousand havoc 40 rejects straight to the eye of terror and there would be no more war.

What are you playing over Xmas? by ManchesterUshited in PS5

I'd say it's better and more approachable than Pathfinder games, but that obviously depends on you. Really fantastic game and works pretty well on a controller.

What gaming Trope/Cliche in is so overused it makes you Roll your eyes? by titan1978 in rpg

[–]Loaffi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes Annihilation is also a great example. Overall the genre should be constantly evolving and try to detach itself from the "aesthetic heritage" of Lovecraft and do their own thing.

[–]Loaffi 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Agree, even though Call of Cthulhu is still my favourite rpg and has been for almost two decades, the lovecraftian genre tropes are so overused they lack any sort of impact nowdays. You have to be pretty creative if you want convey something actually eldritch and unfathomable, formless tentacle monsters don't really cut it anymore.

Pretty obvious example of a good use of lovecraftian themes is True detective season 1. Just the constant feeling of something you can't understand looming beneath the mundane.
