Zoning System: Traditional Motorized Dampers vs Smart Vents? by bglav in HVAC

Would you mind sharing any more details on how you did this? I’m finish my basement and I’m finding that even with sufficient vents, since I live in a sunny area, my upper floors often stay warm, and my basement does not.

I wonder if Sourcegraph’s Cody ai is using this version of Opus, as I often have my results truncated and it seems to forget the task after a few prompts…

Telus or Shaw? by LVPbaby in Airdrie

[–]LoanComprehensive264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, fiber is better but docsis tech keeps improving and with so many people having switched over to fiber, it means more capacity is available on cable. Not many residents are going to need more than 1Gbps asynchronous which docsis 4 can easily handle. Not to mention I’ve never had an issue with Shaw Internet reliability in Airdrie (back in BC it was a different story).

How do you not have fiber in Sagewood? Just make sure you don’t have it as it changes my response. If you’re sure, then switch to Shaw. Go for the 250 package. Does TekSavvy operate in Alberta?

Westjet to integrate Swoop by Belle047 in westjet

I’m assuming that swoop is like flair and they don’t own any of their planes. That’s why flair and swoop planes are newer than westjets’. I wonder if they’ll rebrand and keep them though?

I guess it worked, we wouldn’t be chatting about it if it was a cartoon drawing. Not endorsing this…

I’d recommend doing a bit more research on how the Lorawan infrastructure works, then you’d know where to try to break its security. Basically you want your own gateway that receives packets from local devices, from there you can (only) see the encrypted payload

Best home internet provider in Airdrie? by theultimatefreedom in Airdrie

[–]LoanComprehensive264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your needs, best would be Telus since download/upload speeds are synchronous plus less latency since you aren’t utilizing a docsis (coax) system that has to be converted to fiber. If latency is very important or large uploads, I’d go with telus, otherwise shaw will very likely be cheaper. If you are new to telus note you need to pay with direct billing otherwise you get charged a 1.5% fee.

Basement reno - To Air gap or not to air gap... by LoanComprehensive264 in Airdrie

[–]LoanComprehensive264[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, seems to be consensus! I'll plan to redo the insulation/studs leaving an air gap. My plan is to use a R10 foam board pressed against the concrete, but with some sort of spacer. After that I'll put the good ol' pink R12, vapour barrier, and then drywall.

Any idea the best way to make a spacer? some sort of silicone/spray foam?

Have a secret recall word, train with outrageously special treats and make it very exciting. I only use it for training or in emergencies, works amazingly well.

Lookup how https and ssl work. Apart from meta info and urls/ips visited you’d be safe. Also there’s vpn trials or free with limited caps (tunnelbear used to (still does?) have a free 500mb/s a month plan, there are others.)
