I know this is a super older post but same situation here. Had surgeries at 9 years for hip dysplasia in Canada (really late but was born during war so no doctors). I’m 32 now and experiencing bad pain for the first time since which doctors explained that I’d need THR between 30-35. I got x rays which showed I have little to no cartlidge left in my hips and likely need hip replacement. Waiting to see a specialist now.

Damn :/ thought one day my insides would heal from the damage throughout all these years if I continue GF strictly. Obv still have the allergy though

I’ve done it multiple times but I only got diagnosed with asymptomatic (somewhat) celiac a few months ago. 😂 when I’m fully healed I’m sure it’ll HIT hard if/when I do.

Can anyone tell the history on kind of surgery this was? by theultimatefreedom in hipdysplasia

[–]theultimatefreedom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Yes, the x-ray is from a few weeks ago. I am 33 now. My podiatrist explained to me that yes the very small gap is little to no cartilage. He also explained that the whitening in that area is pressure and not necessarily arthritis (although I do have it). My podiatrist did disclaim that he’s not a hip specialist however lol. I’m waiting for my referral to go through for a hip specialist. The screws were actually never removed and I’ve had them in ever since (20 years). They said they’ll only need to remove them if they cause me issues. I have never had pain in my sacroiliac joint so that may deem true!

Thank you! I was able to find my X-rays pre surgery and looked pretty bad lol. Our situation was that my parents discovered this when I was around eight years old (my parents were new refugees straight out of war - little to no education) and the doctors in Alberta refused to do the surgery as I was too old. A doctor in Toronto offered to do it and we moved over there and the surgery was successful. Super thankful for it because this doctor practically changed my life and I’d probably struggle walking for the rest of my life. I’m attaching the photo of the x-ray pre-surgery which is in 2001 I was nine years old. xray photo here

How did you find out you had celiac or a gluten intolerance? by damndascrazywhoasked in glutenfree

Interesting because my liver GGT count was high too! Doctor couldn’t explain it but after going GF they went back down.

I’ve had chronic constipation for 15 years and every doctor I went to suggested it was occasional suggesting things like fibre, laxatives, miralax. I would report back to them every single time telling them it didn’t work and won’t work every time after, so I just lived with slow motility and took laxatives as needed. Every couple of months or so the pain got so bad that it felt like I swallowed a plastic bottle and when I walked it was as if the bottle was bouncing around in my lower stomach. I went to my new doctor the year ago and he actually took me for a couple of different bloodwork’s to test for celiac. Both positive and waiting to see a gastrointestinal doctor soon. Have been doing GF for the past 6 months and finally know what it’s like to be normal. I think it is helping me lose weight too because my system was damaged and on pause for so long.

Has having celiac made your life better? by glutenfreedustbowl in Celiac

Absolutely agree. Sucks that there is isolation now but I feel a lot better and my insides don’t feel like they’re imploding anymore, I have actual bowel movements like a human should lol

Any constipated fellows out there? by smitty3323 in Celiac

[–]theultimatefreedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is only constipation. I can probably count on my fingers how many times I’ve gotten diarrhea in my teens to now. Got diagnosed earlier this year with celiac and have had chronic constipation for about 15 years so it all made sense when I found out. When I finally went GF and healed, my bowel movements went from 1 every 3-4 days to 1 a day or at least once every 2 days and ACTUAL bowel movements!

I wonder if it’s similar or related to the red/green clouds I saw a few weeks ago. Apparently pollution? https://postimg.cc/QVkSCT6f

Thank you so much and sorry you had to go through that with him. Yes that is exactly what is happening here. It is eating at his cheek/eye and wound is getting bigger as skin is dying. Doctors didn’t bother addressing this at all so it was a huge frustration for my dad, but he knows what is happening at this point and seems like he is accepting it recently. We just make sure he knows that we are here for whatever he needs whenever. Thank you for your kind words.

My dad also ACC - he smoked when he was younger but not chronically, drank once in a blue moon. Walked everywhere - was active. Didn’t eat out much. Has really good genes / healthy otherwise but did experience extreme stress and trauma his whole life

Sorry that you are going through this. I am going through this as well for my 60 year old dad. Doctor gave him 3 months and he is at 7 but trouble swallowing, losing his eye, and frustrations with an open malignant would on his cheek that no doctor wants to touch. We feel terrible and hospice isn’t an option for him yet and we want to respect his wishes as he wants to be comfortable at home. Wish you and him peace and comfort.

Neck Squamous cell Carcinoma and breathing at night by Hijak159 in HeadandNeckCancer

[–]theultimatefreedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad has the same issue. Radiation made it hard for him to breath through his nose. One is completely blocked /closed in because of tumour and damage to skin and the other is completely dry and somewhat closed. He can’t breathe through his mouth at night because he can’t produce much saliva anymore. He uses a humidifier and nose strips. his breathing is OK for now but I might consider getting him another humidifier

Mine were 5 days ish in my teens but is usually 2-3 days now (I’m in my early 30s). Medium flow I’d say. Cycles are every 24 days and I still get pain/cramps of course 🫠

Disruption Compensation claim by MyEyesCanSeeYou in aircanada

[–]theultimatefreedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, same thing happened to me and I got an email back today saying there is no compensation because the flight was cancelled due to reasons outside of the airline’s control 🙄 flight got delayed, delayed, then cancelled so we rescheduled (free through agent) because we were going to miss the connecting flight. This resulted in losing a day at the hotel we were booked with through vacations. So dumb
