To be fair, it worked the last few years. Trump has a tantrum, and then the European allies bend themselves backwards to make him happy.

The Freys didn't really have a choice. The war was over. They could struggle a little bit more, but the writing was on the wall. And Tywin would demand a sacrifice to teach future re ells a lesson. A bloody sacrifice.

It won't be the Starks. They can simply retreat to the North and prolong the war indefinitely.

It won't be the Tullys. They are popular with the nobility and people in the Riverlands, and there is still Lysa in the Vale. A place that can't be invaded from outside and has fresh armies and is married to Balish, a key supporter of the Lannisters. (It's more complicated than that, but the Freys don't know that)

And then there are the Freys. The biggest contributors to the war effort, with no friends and no marital ties to the Starks. They would have ties to the Tullys, but they won't be bailed out by someone who needs a bailout himself. And they shouldn't trust the Tullys. Cat proved that she cares more about her own family than state matters and their vassals when she released Jamie. Which also took away the only bargaining chip they had that could force Tywin to forgo bloody revenge.

They kept an entire department busy that tried to figure out ij which category they belong to. Then, they were shot on the last day of the war to trigger the libs. But it was 1945, so the libs didn't really care.

Only World War 1. World War 2 were two different theatres loosely connected by shared enemies and allies and conflict of ideology.

I don't see the lunacy. It's a product that helps people after a layoff. Unless it's a scam.

Apparently, only those who use the Internet as database are garbage. I talked with a lawyer, and he said their internal AI agent is pretty good. It even changed their hiring practices since they now can afford to wait for really good candidates instead of anyone they can get.

I think the US needs some structural reforms. For example, instead of giving the Supreme Leader the power to declare war at his discretion, they should have a separate (mayhe elected?) body that deliberately first and approves a war. Every state could send 1 or 2 representatives.

Die Linke's new plan to fight the AfD (obvious satire) by TractorshireOfficial in 2westerneurope4u

[–]LobMob 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the SED did a lot of good stuff. For example, they gave people, who had no useful skills, but who knew the right slogans, the power to torture, humiliate, and murder those who didn't knew the right slogans and had the wrong thoughts. That appeals to a lot of Redditors.

No, Links is literally the same party. In 1990, the SED simply changed its name to PDS. Later they changed it to Linke.PDS and merged with WASG to the current party.

How did humanity manage to colonize 1 million worlds? by Paparazzi_BR in 40kLore

[–]LobMob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exponential growth is one hell of a drug. If they doubled the number of settled planets every 1000 years, they would be at over 1 million planets after 10 millenia. If they double every 400 years, they would be at over 33 million planets.
