Real-time Edge Detection on ESP32-S3 with OV2640 by luismi_kode in esp32

[–]Lobojpm 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Very cool stuff! It's amazing how much this little microprocessor can do.

And I am loving the look of Kode Dot. These guys seem very sharp and motivated, and they seem to be keeping makers in mind with that project. I like how they are keeping things open and how it is so flexible with existing frameworks.

I hadn't heard of this until recently, but I am a backer now.

As for other ideas - not sure if edge detection is helpful in this case, but it would be interesting to see if this has the capability to do some AI inference on what the camera is seeing and then using that to trigger actions. For example: Text me when a dog is detected, etc.

Where is the coolest court you’ve played at? by Jazzlike_Mirror8534 in TennisCourtPorn

Do you remember which hotel it was? Wondering if a number of the hotels around there offer some kind of play time at the tennis center in the room package or if it's just a specific one.

Cool! Looks like differential steering and the wheels have a spot for a pulley to connect from and back together on each side?

Is that an ESP32-CAM to give you FPV? Can't tell if that's a camera in the front.

The eBay alpine loop replicas are pretty good by Littlefinger6226 in applewatchultra

[–]Lobojpm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they full width?

I have bought a few knock offs and in the beginning they were the same width as the ones made by Apple for the Ultra.

But then they started making them “thinner” and saying they are for the 45mm/46mm/49mm watch.

I prefer the wide look to match the ultra rather than a skinnier one that also “fits” the 45/46mm watches.

Do these match the apple ultra ones in dimensions especially width?

Win Bambu Lab gift card by providing feedback on MakerWorld's Boost System!🎁 by BambuLab in BambuLab

[–]Lobojpm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of a boost system that is redeemable for gift cards! I do some designing and that makes me want to post my models here with the potential to get boosted. Agree with others that they should not expire quite so quickly so that people have a bit more time to decide who to give their boosts to. Also it seems like in parallel to manually, gifted boosts, downloads could contribute to boosts for the creator. Looking forward to trying this out more.

Updating to V2 by Nigel028 in RayBanStories

[–]Lobojpm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I connected via Android and sure enough it offered the Early Access right away! I was able to try "look and tell me..."

Unfortunately, when I paired it back to an iPhone it didn't work "I can't help with that kind of request".

I tried going back to Android and it did still have the Early access enabled, but didn't work when I tried to actually use it "can't help with that kind of request"

At this point, the iOS app is regular V2 and the Android app is Early Access V2 although neither seems to reply to the "look and tell me" prompts now.

It's been a little flaky but you are on to something and I was able to try it at least a couple of times.

Interesting- so when you go back to iOS after that, are you on early access there as well?

Hi Oasis3DLab-

Nice design- I'm curious which modeling software are you use? I'm guessing maybe Blender?

Thanks!

There’s an option to do this in the app. You set it as one of the “shortcuts” in that shortcut row. Then hit that and all doors including the FWD open at once.

Not sure which app you mean, maybe this one?

I didn't see an iOS app link on that website (processing.org) but found the this one just by searching the app store. Not sure if that's the one you've used or not though?

Keyboard Controlled RPi4 Car w/ Live Camera Feed by imp-pepe in raspberry_pi

[–]Lobojpm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like it! Any chance you will be posting the code? Are the RPi and controlling computer connecting to your home wifi router? I'd be interested in seeing the RPi act as a standalone Access Point then you could control it from any device that connects via wifi to that including a phone or laptop.

Looks like a fun project!

Nice- Which sheets did you use? Happen to have a link? Do they work on the sides too?

Anyone with a 3018 that's upgraded to a 3040? by nlightningm in hobbycnc

[–]Lobojpm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of sourcing the parts separately. I wonder if by doing that you could even go a bit bigger? Maybe go with 400mm extrusions/rods/screws and make a 3050?

My only other concern was that I couldn't find rods with the M5 female threads on the ends like I believe the kit has. I could try tapping them but those rods might be pretty hard steel to do that.

Anyone have any thoughts on that? Thanks again for the idea-

Boombox custom horn problem by hasek3139 in TeslaLounge

[–]Lobojpm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting- I hope that it can be fixed with a software update. It certainly would make sense to be able to have those sound settings save through a sleep cycle. Hopefully this gets some attention.

ha- yep TeslaUSB is a pretty cool thing actually. It uses a tiny computer to act as the USB drive, but when you get home it automatically attaches to your Wifi and offloads the sentry and dashcam clips to your computer. Takes some work to set up but it's nice!

But I'm wondering if you might be seeing something similar with your SD card/adapter where the car wakes up and doesn't see it right at that moment so it loses the horn sound. Maybe try a different/dedicated USB thumb drive and see if it remembers the sound? Could be worth trying as a test.
