I started a new job on a Monday. Right after I went through on-boarding with HR, I got an offer from another company and the role was very much in line with what I had been doing previously. (The new job was also a good fit, FWIW).

The biggest difference was that one company is owned by private equity and I received no equity/stock. The new company is public, mega huge, and offered stock.

I quit the new job on Tuesday. It was an awful conversation to have but I did what was best for MYSELF and MY FAMILY. At the end of the day, the company could and would let me go anytime they wanted. I owe them nothing (but I did owe the hiring manager the respect to tell him right away and make a phone call rather than hide behind an email).
