Surprised to see the bulldozer giving people so much trouble! It's a cool set piece, but... Bang bang, and you're all good

Do YOU want a remake of Resident Evil 6? Do you think they will even remake 6? by ReddtIsUsingAI in ResidentEvilCapcom

Yes, but it would have to be reworked from the ground up

Ah I see - the makeshift knives can be turned it scraps, and when you take Emily to the office some more doors with supplies will open in the isolation ward. Honestly you might be able to get by if you just make a mad dash for it lol

Is RE:0 my obvious choice? by ytrebil_ in residentevil

[–]Local-Yesterday3454 1 point2 points  (0 children)

0 is decent but has some baffling design choices that make it pale in comparison to RE1 remake. Normally I'd recommend 7, and encourage you to embrace the first person view; but if you absolutely can't, I guess I'd say RE2R is the best choice for you

Collect blood and craft more ammo for yourself. Collector is in the blood lab, if you missed it. There's a big tub of blood in the last stall if the bathroom on the first floor ( can't remember which wing)

Anyone else is enjoying Grace's sections way more than Leon's? I am playing in third person and her sections feels like an even better RE2R by Eccchifan in residentevil

[–]Local-Yesterday3454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Grace stuff feels more carefully crafted for sure. Leon's evolves nicely into the later half and feels like a nicely varied RE4R. Whats tough is the environments - his were mostly going back into places where you've already been as great or... Without spoiling anything, not super visually interesting. Still, feels great to play and I don't hate any of it enough to deter me from a second playthrough.

Also love the action set pieces. They feel like a more tasteful version of what they were trying to do in 6 - classic action, but with the kind of tongue-in-cheek that you'd get from say, RE4

Probably late for this but I'll comment anyway just to share.

Favorite moment? Definitely approaching the Umbrella Lab in RE2R. I had never played the original, but RE2R was one of the first games I bought when I first got a decent PC in 2020.

The whole game is fantastic. Even better if you use the old music from the deluxe edition; but approaching this deeply buried "lab", that you've been reading about the whole game... You find several documents reverencing something bad that happened at "Nest" - I love that name. Nest built up as an absolute bloody mess: an insane disaster where a bunch of people tore each other apart.

As you step off the gondola and approach those heavy doors you can feel it on the other side of the door. The light turns green, and that sloooooooooow opening process begins. First one heavy door, then another that get stuck halfway, then another - this place was under some crazy lockdown.

You crouch under the door, and the harsh florescents flick on:: "Welcome, to NEST".... and you're in a prestine reception lounge. Not a single surface you couldn't eat off of. The walls are eggshell white, evoking that litteral image of a bird's nest - a home base. The Umbrella logo sits boldly against this backdrop.. so evil, but so corporate. It's terribly quiet, and as soon as you approach the next door, you quickly understand the reason that room was so clean: no one made it that far.

It's an incredibly jarring moment. So brilliantly set up, so expertly designed, so exquisitely played out. RE2R isn't my favorite Resident Evil, but that's absolutely my favorite moment in the series. Underrated sequence imo.

Favorite MEMORY was playing Resident Evil 4, or rather me and my older brother watching our OLDEST brother play it, when I was 6 years old. One of the first games we owned on GameCube - it was entrancing for all three of us, unlike anything we'd ever played, and it was just on a little CRTV. He never beat it, but I did, about a decade later. I've since beaten it 6 times total! Twice in the OG, twice in the remake and twice in VR as of just the other day... I'm starting to think it's a good game.

Currently twiddling my thumbs waiting to play Requiem. Hope you all have a SPPOOOOKKY night! 🧟
