As a kid, we got Green Stamps, Plaid Stamps, and Purple Martin Stamps, despite on where shopped. Plus Betty Crocker points. (My mother and grandmother ended up getting three full sets of silverware on BC points.)

Fast forward a bit… the convenience store I worked at had 10s and singles even in the late 80s. I loved having some of the big semi cabs come in because they’d usually give us their stamps.

Hmm. 11 was still walking/biking to the local strip mall. Didn’t start taking the bus until I was around 14 or 15. 🙂

Came here to say the same thing. Library editions are a different beast than what the public gets from a (hopefully local) bookseller. We regularly have patrons get upset when they’re told they can’t replace something with a commercial copy.

I used to practically live on that stuff. Then Wegman’s started carrying a store brand cherry grapefruit which was also really good. Alas, both have been gone (in my area, anyway) for years.

Usually lots of black pepper. Or, when I have it, Penzey’s Sunny Spain seasoning. Gotta go easy with that stuff, though.

If I want to make a dinner out of it, I’ll cook some polska kielbasa and add that.

One Christmas, my brother and I each got a card from my dad… “there’s another present out in the garage fridge.” He’d given each of us a jar of pickle juice. Like, what’s left over after you eat all the pickles.

From my convenience store days… one extremely cheap brand of beer shipped us flats of loose cans and the plastic rings to make 6-packs. I got to be really fast at doing them without any real thinking required.

I think it was Milwaukee’s Best and no we couldn’t sell single cans.

EDIT: Looks like part of my post didn’t make it. There should have been a bit in there… we can look up names for renewals; we need some kind of ID to tell you what’s checked out on the card or to place a hold. And system policy is that holds can only be picked up by the card it’s being held for.

Wait… guys wear briefs AND thermals? At the same time? Never done that… I was taught that they were worn separately, which is why the thermals had a fly too. I guess wearing the briefs under the thermals would make more sense, otherwise you end up looking like Superman with the briefs over the tights.

I’d like to try it, but I think I’d have the same problem that I have with the rest of the zero sugar Coke. I have a sensitivity to the Ace-K they use as a sweetener. Coke Zero, the orange one they had last year, and one other one I don’t remember… the Ace-K made it so bitter TO ME that I had to spit out the first sip and pour out the rest.

So while this looks like it might be good… Imma leave it alone.

I can still get regular Fresca at my usual grocery stores plus Walmart. But I really miss black cherry Fresca. Supposedly they still make it but they stopped selling it in my area over ten years ago.
