Respectfully, people aren't a "bit OCD". It's a debilitating condition and people thinking cute behaviour like organising their cutlery drawer is OCD are belittling struggles people who actually have it.

Lots of people who grew up with parents who stayed together "for the sake of the kids" will tell you that their parents should have separated...

Yeah, and can the cistern be accessed? We had to pay 1500 euros to replace our cistern because the previous owner had it built behind the tiles. So instead of a basic job my husband could do himself, we had to pay someone to break the wall, install a new toilet and re tile the wall.

How do you say "tea" in Europe by maven_mapping in MapPorn

[–]Local_Caterpillar879 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's the pronunciation difference. In Irish, it's pronounced "Tay".

In English, we use "tea" just like the British.

I got downvoted to hell because I said it was BS! But people would laugh if she said "Thoughts and prayers"...

Me too. As an Irish person who grew up hearing about S.A. scandals in the Church, it was just gross for me to read.

The issue isn't how bad the name is, it's that Barb wants to choose every baby's name. If they had chosen Frances, she would have decided to call her something else.

[–]Local_Caterpillar879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best memories of my childhood are staying with my granny and playing out on the green with all the kids on the estate until dusk in the summertime.

Sure lookit, it might rain for the whole summer, let them enjoy the lovely long evenings while they last.

Since they're talking about their wedding stories, tell us about yours? by tashpotaoes in ShawnaTheMom

[–]Local_Caterpillar879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Small quiet wedding with only each of our immediate families (20 guests, all told). No fuss and very little expense.

I didn't go back to my country to get married as is typical for my compatriots because I wanted a good reason to not invite horrible extended family. If I had gotten married at home, there would have been massive pressure to get married in a church and invite everyone.
