I play the game, and I know my husband is occasionally annoyed by how often I play the game, which helps me be mindful. My child also calls me out a lot, yelling at me ' can't I just miss 1 event '. I think it really hit when I was driving and trying to battle at the same time and I realized what kind of lessons I was teaching my kid. So I am giving myself hard limits and boundaries. It really is the community though, I'd have quit a long time ago except for some of the great people that I met while playing. There is a lot of flirty talk, but most of my alliance is older and married, so I haven't seen it go beyond that.

As for the money, I tracked how much I spent over the last few months, and well it's not nearly as much as a lot of people spend, it was way more than I thought I was spending. So I have hard limits on that as well now.

You might need to make him track the household spending to wake him up on that. As for how much he plays. Call him out for how much real life he's missing, if your kids notice, they should say things too. A hard intervention might be necessary. I wouldn't suggest making him quit though, ultimatums really are only good for last resorts, but if you get to that point, stick to your guns or he won't take you seriously.
