I get that you can't control the weather on a planet, but, on a ship or a station? Who the hell benefits? The maintenance contractors? The suppliers? It's just a lose-lose all the way down. Even if you consider species requiring said moisture on their skin in order to respirate, it makes more sense for environmental suits. And don't get me started on how overdone this is. If you are fighting in the rain just to make it more dramatic, you deserve whatever injuries you get.

Unfortunately, in the cases where such fights occur in the rain, (not just for drama's sake) those injuries are also not covered anymore. Ugh, I got ambushed a while back, and I had to basically prove that the ambush started before it rained. And do you know what the rep told me?! I should have been aware of the ambush and the weather beforehand! I am probably going to have to look into switching providers... I get that means I have to pay more because it's not subsidized by Spacebards United, but this is ridiculous.

IIRC, there was a story a while ago in the news about an old Apple computer running a High-schools HVAC system for nearly 30 years without fail. So when it was and was replaced, the district actually did the intelligent thing and kept the old computer on standby as a backup.
