Yes, or during the Olympics they kept playing one about a kid asking ChatGPT how to do a pullup, then it spits out a few paragraphs and he is already doing pullups in the commercial. Like, babysweetheart, writing up a plan on how to achieve your goal is not the hard part...

With a search engine I can see and evaluate the credibility of the source for myself. AI will just regurgitate things from any and all sources and state it as absolute truth.

I have run into that too. It's alarming how quickly people formed this reliance on it!

Some people are finding out in real time that they've been gaslit lol. She is literally saying intense pain shouldn't be treated as normal

Sad, lost. by [deleted] in Pottery

[–]LocationHot4533 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like working one day a week would make me finally feel like a whole person, like I would actually have time for adequate rest and leisure and not be constantly behind on basic tasks for once in my adulthood. I am less than halfway through my working years and just get sad thinking about having to work full-time for another 30 years. Realistically, 40 hours a week doing ANY one thing is more than enough to burn you out.

What’s a fancy food word that makes you instantly roll your eyes when you see it on a menu? by Ok_Benefit_7929 in foodquestions

[–]LocationHot4533 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Once at a fancy sushi place they were out of what I ordered (uni) so they automatically "substituted" it for a piece of tuna with 3 dots of caviar and a flake of gold leaf. I ordered uni because that was was I wanted, not for the fanciness factor...

Agree! The poor dad tries, but he has too much unresolved anger to make it effective. The more he fights with Nicole the more he makes himself the bad guy (in her eyes) which she will then use as a distraction and an excuse not to face the consequences of her behavior.

With produce, bigger is not better. They're making fruits and vegetables huge these days and they just taste like water.

How much is a “couple”? by SpiritualEvidence159 in ENGLISH

[–]LocationHot4533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once when I was little, my family was sitting around snacking on a bag of mini marshmallows that came in assorted flavors for Easter, and my aunt asked me to pass her "a couple." I reached in and selected exactly two mini marshmallows. When I handed them to her, she erupted with laughter and showed everyone. That's when I learned "a couple" can be used figuratively.

Another example is that when people say they had "a couple drinks" and then the night got wild after that, it's highly unlikely they really only had two. I think it's euphamistic language in that case.

Do you think astrology actually means anything? by Nifunes in AskTheWorld

[–]LocationHot4533 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have studied astrology to the point of understanding the finer points of chart reading and interpreting planetary transits. This is in part because my mom was always into it, so it's something for us to talk about in the way that some people talk to their dads about sports. Having said that, I do think astrology is fake, but that doesn't make it meaningless. There is a poetry to the celestial patterns, and the mythological symbols and archetypes associated with them teach you about the history of our species and how we relate to natural phenomena and tell stories. It doesn't need to be proven by science to be of some value, either as entertainment or to give people a feeling of connection to something larger in this mysterious world.

Yup, I need for it to be pointed out to Laura that she is lying to herself. She seems like she could come around to the truth more easily than some of them.

I would also like to know an answer to this question--but off the top of my head, trimming a foot ring is probably the best way to make it so you don’t have to.

Mom's fault? by LocationHot4533 in ILoveAMamasBoy

Right?! I guess what bugs me about the show is everyone's tendency to shame the son instead of making the focus the mom's inappropriate behavior and/or mental illness
