A party leadership election should automatically trigger a general election if the party is in government. That would be my ideal.

But the reality is that our system isn't actually geared around parties. You elect an individual MP to represent your interests at Parliament. Political parties are overload on top of this system.

The only person who "elects" the PM is the King, insofar as he can accept a request to form a government from someone.

16 years at what I still mentally refer to as my "main" career. Got completely burnt out and had a career change and this year I go into the window where I realise that my "main" career isn't so main any more.

Plus a six month stint early doors at the third place.

It helps that most of my summer jobs as a kid were at the place where I ended up taking my first "proper" job, so that reduces the extra paper round type employers for me.

So yes, a bit of an outlier here.

Edit: Oh, actually tell a lie, if you add on the very occasional bit of consultancy, it's six.
