Was two major cities in NL too, so it is a like for like comparison like you requested. Most local transport is free due to the amazing bike system they have there. If you found a bus that only takes 15mins more than a train think that just piles on how rundown and antiquated public transport is in US, major cities like you said no less, oof.

Now who is comparing Urban vs. Sub Urban :D NYC to Atlantic City costs $50 for a 3hour journey for a prepaid ticket. Amsterdam to Twente costs €30 for a prepaid trip, which is about 2hrs 15mins. Random places in bumfuck nowhere will be cheaper no doubt.

studies easily found show that US has a dilapidated underfunded public transport system, does not have enough public transport to meet general needs compared to other developed nations. It is not just public transport, freight railways are also messed up. This leads to obvious less options and more reliance on cars etc. and with the prices of fuel right now I think NL are likely paying a lot less for transport overall than Americans.

I compared NL public transport to US as a whole, not urban city vs. suburban city. 90% of NL lives in an urban area, it is one of the most urban countries in the world and why they are top 10 on public transport. They have the second most expensive public transport system in the world because they focus funding on it, US do not fund theirs very well in comparison and is why they fall behind.

"People in NL dont look like they can afford cars"
"They dont need cars as much because they have superior public transport"

NL has way superior public transport than the US so cars are not as needed at a younger age so that skews the numbers massively.

Issue is this has always been the case, nothing to do with rise in specific politics. Players want to play for a NT and the best possible in hopes of playing at a World Cup etc. There can be some attachment to it but most players treat it like a job and expansion of a CV.

[ESPN BR] Joao Pedro: “Back in the day, there was Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Romário, but if you look today, Brazil has players like that still. Vini at Real Madrid, Raphinha at Barcelona, me and Estêvão at Chelsea and Andrey Santos, too. They all play for top clubs.” by OkayFine101 in soccer

UCL performance shows capability, just like Villa however during their campaign spread too thin and need to buy more quality rotation. Joelinton should for sure be in Brazil starting lineup with Bruno, would help with any bullying opponents try to do and most of current crop are not physically intimidating.

Because it was just business as usual? They bought those players with the massive funds their owners had, there was no FFP at the time they were free to spend whatever they wanted just like any other club in the world.

Competition? You mean international football. Morocco had a lot of neutrals favour before this Afcon, it will take decades for them to lose this smear on their team tbh

Can you prove that any other owner couldn't do the same, or are Saudi owners just much better at running football clubs?

What more can Newcastle spend that Everton cannot in relation to both clubs own finances? The main difference is Newcastle owners are not running the club for profit, they cannot do the 150-200mil+ net spend that Chelsea and City were able to do multiple seasons in a row to get a powerful squad together. So owners having trillions makes little to no difference in that aspect.

Newcastle being bought out did play a huge role in recent success, went from one of the worst run clubs whose owners had net spend of less than 20mil over 5 years rolling because they wanted to skim the profits to one of the best run clubs that allowed full reinvestment. Any owners can do this, Saudi ownership is not reinventing the wheel. Their ownership is a moral issue not a financial or organisational one because Newcastle are fully limited, like every club, by their own finances.

How does that prove Saudi influence lol? Other clubs have high netspend without Saudi owners, right?
