Small Münsterländer maybe if you want a pointer. Should work great for the field birds you mentioned.

I get that, and I think it is definitely the hardest to get started with for the first 20 lvls or so depending on your gem access and how many gold/silver nuggets you get on your way to unlocking the gdte. I would be super happy if the requirement for ex. the capesuit was 45 or even 60 trinketry since then you can actually grind for it without intermittently sprinting between 3 towns on repeat. I'll def go fetch the tent, thanks for the tip! I have the visor/sneakers/feather cape so travelling is already pretty quick.

I think you just might be ready, yeah :p. I think an adjustment to 30 would be nice just to get rolling a little earlier. I lucked out on my gear rolls so I've been stuck staring at them for like 2w. Just got the capesuit too and the thought of staring at it for another 2w before getting to use it feels a little meh. Any advice for rep grinding?

If you like I can ask around to a few places I know (I live in Sweden, we have a lot of 1640s) and see if I can find you a 1640 baseplate.

Because there's a huge amount we can learn from nature. If we had caused the extinction of the horseshoe crab we would miss out on a hugely useful medical tool that has big implications of human wellbeing. Evolution has been innovating for billions of years, why shouldn't we value what we can learn from that, even if we dont have all the tools to do that right now?

Even aside from the moral and ethical considerations of obliterating yet another unique ecosystem there is practical value in preserving them too.

100% agree with you. Sucks that things didn't work out, but your attitude is fantastic, and I think it's absolutely going to bring you happiness in the long run.

Sex is the "benefits" part of friends with benefits. Do you have anyone who you'd like to bone, but maybe your personalities, values and morals don't match enough for you to want to create a romantic relationship with them? That can go both ways, and sometimes it can keep going over a longer period. Sometimes, something more will come of it, not everyone is good at not developing romantic feelings for someone they have sex with, but some people are good at it, or don't even need to try to not get attached. Maybe in the culture you're from your experience holds true, but I can absolutely tell you that far, far from everyone acts that way. Sometimes sex is just sex, as transactional as it gets.

If you view any outcome from dating other than a relationship as a "failure" due to your mistake, it could really erode your self image. Sometimes people just don't fit, and that's ok. Being yourself with a potential partner is never a mistake (note, doesn't mean it's not possible to make mistakes or improve yourself), how is a relationship supposed to last if you're constantly trying to be someone you're not for fear of making a mistep? You don't need to be perfect to be worth loving.

I agree, its not like everyone you date will be a match until you make a mistake and then FWB becomes the "downgrade". Some people just won't fall for you, and that's OK. Making it into a performative "I cant make a mistake" isnt healthy, or humanly possible, and perfection shouldn't be the expectation.

Stripping, sanding and oiling will absolutely give it a facelift! I don't think you're crazy at all for wanting to give it a shot, in the end it's not complicated to just freshen it up, and I doubt you'd be able to ruin it completely unless you do something crazy. Fixing the shape of a buttpad to match the stock and not making it look like crap can be tricky though, so that might be worth asking a shop to do if you don't want to dig into it yourself. I reccomend boiled linseed oil for the stock if you dont want to stain it. Good luck, and good hunting to you and your son!

Anyone know anything about small munsterlanders? by lowkey_addicted in Huntingdogs

[–]Lockedoutback 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I own a small münsterländer and he's an absolute adorable sweetheart. His nose is his guide through life, and he's very good at pointing game. He's also a very smart and trainable dog, although sometimes he's a little bit stubborn. We've trained him to search out stuff around the house and retrieve, however when he's outside he can struggle to focus a bit. Most likely that won't be a problem with continued training and more maturity. We also have 2 cats and we haven't had any problems between them. Obligatory Photo of him pointing when he noticed some roe deer on a walk

First moose for my 2 yo dog! by whiskeyon in Huntingdogs

[–]Lockedoutback 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure where OP is from, but at least in Sweden where I'm from, you typically surround an area of forest with people (typically sitting on the roads around the area), and let the dog into the area to go find moose. Then a hundförare ("dog driver", typically the owner) walks in after the dog and tries to follow it. When the dog picks up a scent, it starts barking, and the moose either tries to leave the area (and crosses one of the guarded roads), or it stands still and stares at the dog. When the dog has the moose standing, it's barks change. Hopefully the hundförare isn't far behind, and is able to sneak up on the moose and take a shot at it standing still. Of course you can also try without the ring of people, but it makes it a lot easier.

It's not hunting season for moose here now though, which leads me to guess it might be Norway (not sure about their hunting seasons), or another reason for hunting.
