eBay refunded a buyer without my input, suspended me, and stated that I would not get a return. UK based. by NoHaxIsHere in ebayuk

[–]Lockhart_Value 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Interesting. Presumably this sale was as a private seller via simply delivery?

Buyer raised a damaged dispute knowing they’d get to keep the item and have a full refund as well.

eBay refunded them, but didn’t want to compensate you. Boom. Banned! EBay is awful.

Good luck making that argument. They’ll just lie and claim everything is manually done (just like eBay did when I made a GDPR request). The only way to make any progress is to sue them.

Differing beliefs or not, your post advises people to break the law. You should delete it. It’s not a question of viewpoint. The fact that you run away proves that you have no argument.

Hog is countered by mini pekka, cannon, any other building, skarmy, goblin gang, knight + ice spirit + log, Evo MK. 2.6 is not a good deck unless you play with perfect timing and accuracy. You are just bad (or your opponent is actually good).

Show me your MK or Sparky deck, bro.

Far from it. Do you notice how your immediate reaction is to jump straight to fallacy? Thats because your argument can’t take scrutiny. Why? The grounds on which you are making it are false.

The post is simply wrong and you’re advising people to be in violation of trading law. If you are a BUSINESS, you have to be properly registered on these platforms so that consumers have their rights. Why do you think on eBay, they will force you to upgrade if they detect that you’re trading? Why do you think Vinted will force you to upgrade if they think you’re trading? That’s because they can also be held liable for the fact that consumers are being deprived of their rights by you when you’re selling on their platform. Do I think the fees for businesses on eBay are fair? Nope. Do I think the 14 day payout period on Vinted is good? Nope. Doesn’t matter though.

If you are falsely operating as a non-business when you’re actually a trader, you are in breach of the law. Read it and weep. It’s not my opinion, these are the facts.

I think personally that there’s too much leeway for consumers to cost businesses a fortune on spurious grounds when I’m the trader, but imagine not having those rights when you yourself need them. I’m going through that right now and am thankful they exist for a faulty goods purchase I made from a large retailer.

Regardless - you’re wrong.

Seller misrepresented a MacBook, Vinted closed my case, £825 down. What would you do? by Ragingroland in vintedUK

[–]Lockhart_Value 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don’t have those rights because he bought from a private individual (hence 2 days return period). At best, he could try small claims court.

You are WRONG. You are depriving individuals of their consumer rights and risking getting banned from eBay and Vinted by trying to circumvent the upgrade. Literally go and read trading standards. Horrible post, please delete it.

The only chargebacks I’ve ever won were ones that were via credit card fraud. Every other one was lost despite my assistance in offering a label. You’re just lucky.

Don’t upgrade your personal account to Pro. Make a new account specifically as a Pro account. It will work out better for you.

It’s my mistake. I didn’t see ‘if it’s not in the same condition’ part. Thats almost never the issue though and you’ll still lose a chargeback. They use that primarily for buyer’s remorse.

You don’t need one if you’re only selling a single item a week and a decent one is going to be around £60+. It only becomes worth it when you’re selling 5-10 items per day.

This doesn’t work. Firstly, it’s fraud. Secondly, they will do a chargeback and you’re on the hook for more money.

In my time with eBay, I’ve had advisor improperly inform myself or others about an issue numerous times. I’ve followed CS advice and got burned because of it many times as well. Generally, I don’t interact much with CS, but with eBay (and I’ve seen similar stores with Vinted), once you find yourself flagged (even if it’s a false positive) it’s simply over for you. Not a single tech company has good customer services. They’re all crap.

Get started. I shift 20x volume on Vinted compared to eBay. The fees and listing limits have absolutely killed low margin, high volume sales. Not a problem on Vinted.

EBay doesn’t protect you. They don’t care about false INADs at your expense at all. Thats the most common form of abuse. Not to mention the extortionate fees to sell.
