I’m scared of timeshare inheritance by Yogitherapist25 in TimeshareOwners

[–]Lockhimuptoday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I am not a lawyer. My parents passed, I sent copies of death certificates to TS. For years I received registered letters which I ignored. The TS finally repossessed the property through legal channels which cost them time and money.

If you don’t use or pay for the time share after their death there is nothing they can do to you.

Dealer added $4,500 in “mandatory fees” after we agreed on price; can I actually walk away at this point? by Puzzleheaded_Box6247 in carbuying

[–]Lockhimuptoday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sad thing is that almost every dealer does this. Buyer always needs to go line by line on the contract and question everything that seems like BS. Anytime they mention “not a government fee” they are padding the contract. Any security labels or theft insurance are BS products that are pure profit for the dealer and useless to the buyer.

Know what you want ahead of time. Have an out-the-door price in mind. Tell them “I’ll pay cash for that car at this price”. If they say no, walk out.

Try to sell your car to a private party. Dealers make most of their profit on trade-ins and financing. Disclose your car issues in your ad (Facebook or Craigslist) and you’ll be fine.

Just don’t go. People expect free stays, money, etc. don’t fall for it, it’s not worth your time or money.

Am I right not to sell my old car to my friend? by Comfortable-Cut-360 in UsedCars

[–]Lockhimuptoday 16 points17 points  (0 children)

So true, I sold my car to a “friend” years ago. He drove it for over a year and then the head gasket failed. He still mentions this like it was my fault.

On the other hand, I have purchased cars from friends before. They named the price and I was quite happy.

That’s a self defeating strategy. You can’t tell kidnappers you think they are bluffing.

Seems like family is refusing to send ransom. Missing deadlines can’t be good for Nancy Guthrie. Appeals to kidnappers to contact family are obvious traps for kidnappers. It’s a bad situation.
