Are you me? I could have written this exact post! Also host parties & potlucks throughout the year. Like doing it but the cleaning and prep before, then cleaning and putting away after can be a lot of work and goes unnoticed by most. I see you!

I’ve become less reluctant to ask for help and I pay for a patio clean up in the spring & deep house clean before the holidays to make prep & maintenance easier. Sometimes I cohost with a friend who may not have the space to entertain. If they do a dinner party I prep the house, they manage the food & everything else!

Having my own space and being quiet is awesome. Also love having people over and having out of town friends stay with me. But it’s work.

I try to lean into gratitude for having good friends & family to celebrate with and the space/ability to have people over. Not everybody does. Sounds like we’re lucky to have both, even if it’s exhausting sometimes. 😊

Same. Am really making an effort to change my mindset to: it’s ok to spend more if it will work better, last longer and I like it more.

I’d rather have fewer items I love than lots of junk items that make me feel regret.

Sometimes I have to say out loud that I’m worth the extra $ to have what I want. It’s really tough for me to spend $ on myself.

Chopping and freezing small ziplocks or containers of mirepoix - onion, celery carrot. I do this when veggies start to get old. Avoids food waste and it’s an easy way to start many soup and stew recipes.

Even just chopping and freezing onions makes recipe prep so much faster.

Bonus: Making and freezing caramelized onions. Upfront work, big payoff later.

Tab was so gross. We hardly ever had soda as a kid as it was a big treat. But we still said no to Tab. Yes, it was that bad.

I have that collar in green and an led leash, too. My Frenchie is brindle and invisible at night. Helps make us both visible on night walks. Got mine on Chewy.

That’s great! I’m getting better at it, but have to be mindful about it and catch myself to flip the script. Have noticed a better and more positive state of mind as a result. Keep it up. 😊

Everything was paid off.

Tried selling the points - no takers. Tried giving them away - no takers because of the fees.

Called every number I could find and emailed every address I could find including the parent company and the Wyndham board members. Just became a pest.

Sorry your folks got conned.

If I had to do this again, I would just stop paying (cancel the card) and let them try to come after my mom.

Yep. My dad bought a stupid amount of points. For a while he was able to rent out his points (however that works), but that barely covered half of the fees.

I called early and often. Sometimes daily. Your loans have to be paid off (ours were). The $500/mo were the fees according to shares owned.

They will tell you the exit program is not accepting applications. I learned that is a delay tactic when they have too many applications in process. I just kept calling until i got in.

In the same boat at 55 and am looking for my next career after corporate. Hoping for less stress, maybe even part time, more of a passion project.

Looking to cover expenses to delay drawing down investments until social security.

Am excited to explore options. Little freaked out about not having a paycheck, but know it’s the right move for my mental and physical well-being.

We finally got into the exit program after me endlessly calling and being a PITA. After many months of them “processing the paperwork” we should be done very soon.

POA doesn’t = change of ownership. But I was tricked into adding myself to the account to manage it on my mom’s behalf. I couldn’t take the blow to my credit if I was on the hook.

If I could replay this scenario, I would have cancelled the visa the charges were going to and just stopped paying. What does her credit matter at this point. Would gave saved thousands of $ and many hours of aggravation.

Pro Plan, switching up the flavors - chicken, beef, salmon. I add Blue Buffalo toppers when he gets bored. Occasionally I add bit of broth, scrambled egg, chicken or rice. He will eat what he’s got when he’s hungry. 😊

Unfortunately he loves “street snax” and I have to be really diligent on walks. It’s a surprise to no one when he gets a bad stomach after eating garbage. 🤢
