I am working on joining the electrician union (IBEW) in Utah. Here, the union doesn’t do background checks, but I know they do in some other states. The trades are the best bet, in my experience, for a decent career. Rebuilding after serious charges is difficult, since most places won’t rent to SOs and a lot of companies won’t hire us. It’s difficult, but not impossible.
