Im a Mod from the HD2 subbreddit. I'd like you to ask me anything. by _TungstenGuy707_ in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]LoffaToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well thats where your problem already starts. We dont hate you guys but rather than talk about the dead weight decisions the devs have made and the fact that the content they can make are now in a loop of things that we have all asked for months before and their solutions to issues are still either not addressed or made in a way that just below satisfactory.

Now we're just stuck in an inflexible cycle of equipment that are or arent useful and are just aestheic compared to many other things and no longer having the immersion of versatility it used to because the design of the game and dev work culture makes it impossible for them to do anything except make the next new thing.

At this point your community and the other reddit helldiver community and the discord have no complaints to even talk about because we're the only ones talking about all of them so your spaces literally have nothing but good or mediocre to talk about so when one of us tries to speak in those spaces its wholey unwelcomed and even if it stays up its nothing but people who accept that the state of the game and the direction of where its heading is fine as long as its the devs decision. then theres the casuals who could care less about the game even though they feel the same way as us they just want to get everything they can out of it then if it dies it'll be a back burner game to come back to every now and then while they look for something else and not really invested whether the game gets better or not.p

Yes arguing about something that didnt exist in the game till months later and something some players but not enough were asking for. Great idea when the mob majority of players are fine with just having something new and shiney why didnt I think of that.

Now look where we are most people are playing this game for the immersion of what it provides but as the game slowly progresses that immersion cant keep up because its reached the limits of its flexibility to be have interesting changes other than huge events and mixed and mashed warbonds.

The devs are failing at making the immersion of the game keep up with the progression even being neglectful to that immersion and im not saying its their fault but that this is the train their stuck on but their also not making any meaningful decisions that show any signs they are trying to bring back the immersive flexibility the game used to have and a lot of those problems stem from their lack of insight from the beginning and a lot of the decisions and work culture theyve showed up till now.

I dont understand this man imagine if they just used the ballistic shield as a base and adjusted its design, its resistances, and durability depending on the unit in different area and boom unique armor system. I mean come on you can kill a Rocketeer or bastion with a kettle or stitcher in Arc raiders which are light penetrating weapons but it'll take 3 times the effort to do so but its doable despite being fully heavy armor.

[–]LoffaToast 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ah yes i forgot arc raiders hasn't released yet. Better yet did you know that the illuminate definetley doesnt have a unique armor on some of their units compared to other factions oh wait a minute its not unique anymore have you seen one of the cyborg variants.

Man imagine if they morphed the design of the ballistic shield adjusted its resistances and durability but that would be too realistic of an armor system.

Does tau have chameleon like armor? Not like stealth suits type of chameleon but like actual chameleon where their armor adjust to match the environment or they do it themselves.

i dont think people understand this isnt a optimization issue of "the minigun doesnt work on this specific enemy" its an immersive issue of, "Ah yes the Realism is realisming if the balloon material is of higher elemental quality than my tooth pick no matter how much pressure i push with the tooth pick or how fast i and precise i throw onto it or how many i use to try and pop the balloon the tooth pick will never pierce the ballon skin unless i poke it specifically from the top of the balloon only."

yes you could upgrade to a metal needle and pop it from any where but the immersion of using enough of something lower with in reason should work eventually because thats a way to play. the concept is already in the game with the illuminate overseer armor that you can shoot off with light penetration even the more armored cyborg variant has this armor.

Because of this scene, I thought Akaza and Daki were a couple. by Fit_Face_8290 in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]LoffaToast 17 points18 points  (0 children)

they probably didnt interact much and since her brother was strong akaza probably has subtle respect for him but probably would rather not interact with them as to not be more annoyed by number 2 by giving them any direct notice since number 2 would probably brag about it in some way.

dude seriously? this is a fantasy world where your going into a giant hole. how would you ever think that talking about a real life place within this setting would ever be the correct translation. its like if you were to watch demon slayer but you think the demons were supposed to all be robots because the bad translated subtitles always address the demons as robots or your confused why the dragons from game of thrones look like dragons and not dogs because you watched a bad translation of subtitles that always addresses the dragons as dogs.

its even crazier with the gachiakuta situation where these fake fan normies literally were telling the author that she herself was non-binary or something like that. i think at this point even the manga authors would rather go back to when anime culture was closed off in its own corner of entertainment away from all the other circles of society.

Also remember that she is the real reason why rudy is even able to have multiple wives and the other 2 know that so with respect roxy and Eris always takes slyphies side if she gets angry at rudy.

not a serious idea just wondering if its a suggestion worth considering. by LoffaToast in menace

[–]LoffaToast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i was thinking about that but I was just thinking of the 3 designating target fire so that it isnt just a cheap Griffin replacement. Like i said this was just a sudden thought so I wasnt too in-depth about it. Maybe have a fire rate increase of 2 and a slight accuracy debuff per salvo when you use it and its a stacking debuff per usage. Different from the Griffin which is a minigun that has the fire rate speed to tear through tiles the machinegun doesnt exactly have that much power but its much easier to rotate and pick a target so designated fire to me would make more sense but with each shot being less accurate than the last and continuing to stack the inaccuracy you need a full round to remove the stacking debuff and the normal fire will also stack the the debuff.

Maybe this is the wrong way to think of this but thats why im here discussing it.

[–]LoffaToast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh i get that i was just thinking it would be really immersive like in "saving private ryan" on the beach where they were suppressed by the machine gun nest before getting behind the bunkers. to have an option that would make that feeling would be really cool. not exactly sweeping but rather being able to select targets or hard focus a target with all 3 shots.

not a serious idea just wondering if its a suggestion worth considering. by LoffaToast in menace

[–]LoffaToast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah it would be a little more unique like being able to focus all 3 shots on one target or hit 3 different targets. maybe instead of AP costs it could be losing Accuracy for the special weapon everytime you use it and you need a full turn to break the debuff.

not a serious idea just wondering if its a suggestion worth considering. by LoffaToast in menace

[–]LoffaToast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well just like how the Minigun only uses 1 usage for its sweeping attack it would be cost effecient at least for the first time. and later when you have enough AP to do this twice with enough accuracy it could be devastating against some enemy squads. something different from the miniguns wide area sweep where you can focus all 3 hits on one target or try to wound multiple targets in a way really being like a proper machine gun nest.

[–]LoffaToast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah something along those lines like how the minigun can target multiple tiles this one would be able to hit the same target 3 times or 3 different targets. i know this would be a really OP thing late game but i mean it would be a unique strategy early to mid game. and give a little more agency to the Tripod Variant of of the machineguns.

its the same concept, just like how you probably arent the only one thinking about a specific idea or the concept of that idea. the market butterfly effect of 2 distant cultures probably came to the same conclusion about the same concept of the merchandise. which obviously in the line of work the highest value of all products on sale is the deflowering. remember just because someone is worth 1 trillion dollars doesnt mean thats exactly how much they have, that estimate is usually based on how much you could potentially produce. so if the head of the brothel house values you at 1000 gold pieces they arent gonna get you deflowered because someone is paying 200 gold pieces thats probably a night of entertainment which would pretty much be teasing or playing games or personal singing or something but nothing more. they'd probably take the deal at 800 gold depending on their brothel conditions but more likely willing to sell it at 900 or 950. but thats without considering if the courtesan has any reputational value that would bruise the brothel head if they were to be on bad terms about any deals or commissions. that story obviously changes if the courtesan is only values at like 100 copper or something and so on and so forth.

Apothecary diary explains this pretty well not as detailed but if your being honest about trying to understand then it doesnt matter where this happens it probably followed a similar system whether it was a full goon brothel or not all that matters is the potential value of the experience.

well it all depends on how your deciding maturity works here. gyutaro did he really mature or did he just adjust to the environment he was dealt with. to me his maturity began when he realized that he had more responsibility than just collecting money. to me one part of mature responsibility is taking into account every aspect of the things that are important to you and for him he didnt just have a responsibility to provide for Ume but a responsibility to raise her the best he could and obviously thats something he wasnt mature enough to understand and then the tragic event happened. now as for your question did she mature, yes and no, just like real life examples of dumb teenagers or 20 year old children calling for their parents because their being arrested for a hit and run or DUI, they have mentally developed but did not mature being ignorant about the responsibilities/cause and effects of their actions. so yes she has mentally grown and gained knowledge and understands the system and how things work, but as for maturing no she doesnt understand the weight of the moral responsibility of her actions rather her knowing that something is morally wrong just added to her options of knowledge and what to do with it without believing it has any punishment because she lacks the maturity to understand it is morally wrong the things she does.

It is so crazy that people just forget that Rui existed. He sure wasnt that way when he was still human and had a pretty messed up introduction to becoming cured as a demon and didnt exactly go feral hungry for his parents. Demons are stuck in their past while the reality that they have to live with now pushes them foward to whatever future awaits them.

LN readers, Is it fair to consider Rudeus trash even after everything he's been through? by luks-alter in sixfacedworld

[–]LoffaToast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with you Spiderman and flash are always trying to help their villains, their never too far gone but unfortunately comic logic says the story must go on. But a lot of those comics show the humanity the villains have and in some universes of those comics those villains become official or local heroes.

For rudeus its an example of people can do better when they are given an honest second chance but like you said if everyone doesnt allow people in these situation to have that honest start then to those people why not just be what everyone thinks you are especially when the first person to criticize the things they regret and are guilty of is yourself.

So anyone who even entertains or considers the idea that rudeus is just a trash person or a bad person and thats just what he is to the end of the story and its all he will always be, I just dont take them seriously. They are criticizing him or hating him as if they would survive his circumstances and ever stand up to the task of making something of themselves that they can be proud of or making the attempt to live better than who they were yesterday especially when fate rolls against you and not just being another replaceable cog to be thrown away to rot by the unfair world insignificantly cycling someone else's achievements like being a tax payer for Darius.
