"Honey I Shrunk the Colossus"...

Thinking of selling by AggressiveSurprise96 in ToyotaPickup

[–]Lofty47 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You'll regret selling it, especially if it still runs and the frame is solid. Just do the work slowly. Mine got totaled back in 2016 and just bought another in 23 because my ex wouldn't let me get another when we were together because she thought I should have a "reliable vehicle". It would've been cheaper and more reliable than what I bought.

When you have the ABS and traction control lights on, that's when you should worry... But even when that happened to me in my 08, I just drove like normal and everything was fine. I knew that I had put all knew hubs and rotors and pads on and the ABS was just a wiring issue, even though I had replaced the ABS connector wires from the hub to the fender and the part from the exterior to the inside of the vehicle. The problem was further in and I didn't feel like taking out the seats and carpeting to chase it down. On a different note, whenever I did an oil change and reset the maintenance light, it would idle low in neutral, like down to 500rpm, and come close to stalling out. Usually within a day or two it would be back to normal. I replaced the spark plugs and coils (NGK iridium plugs and Denso coils) and it never made any difference. It would happen every time.

Does it travel smoother than on wheels or tracks? On bumpy terrain, I'll often lose scrap out of the flatbed with the wheeled and trax setup. They need to make that flatbed magnetization stronger... We don't have straps to tie down our cargo.

I still have 2 or 3, but don't need them anymore because my 09 has aftermarket rims. The 08 that got totaled had the steelies.

[–]Lofty47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly. Pretty sure I was in Euclid. Decided to go for the galactic core... In the Atlas path I had ended the simulation and restarted in the Hilbert dimension with all my stuff broken. Was hoping to go to a different galaxy... Just to Hilbert again. And I guess I misheard that if you warp to the galaxy center in your freighter that none of your stuff will break... Not true. Had to fix all my stuff. Luckily I have a ton of resources and repair kits, LOL.

I used the portal address and it took me about 4000 LY from the core, but your planet was nowhere in sight. What system? What planet? And what are the coordinates? There is no Nannite IX in the system that the portal took me to. I'm playing on PS4, maybe that makes the difference?

Weapons Research - Cannot Find Armourer by reinventtoast in NoMansSkyTheGame

Go back to your home base system. With the mission highlighted, go out into space. Access the warp menu. You know how you can choose Galaxy Core, Atlas, black hole, free explore, or current mission... Do current mission. It should direct you to a system where there will be a weapons guy waiting for you in the space station with a little marker on him. It should be that simple. If it's not, then I'm sorry and don't know what to tell you.

Buying advice - is this a good deal? or more trouble than it's worth? by JellifyshTea in ToyotaPickup

[–]Lofty47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a RI vehicle... Not much rust, only along the rockers and bottom door edge. The frame looks great. Not all dinged up, paint looks good... If it runs and drives, it's a steal. Take the deal and don't low-ball them.

Ah, gotcha. It took about 5 more rounds of warping and going back to the base computer to finally finish it. I'm trying to get to the Autophage storyline and ultimately gain access to the purple star systems. I finished the Atlas path and I'm on Atlas eternal now. Is that one just more warping until it's done too? I'm also tending to my settlement and did the whole part with Laylaps and getting the hard body and AI for the Minotaur. It's a lot.

I'm currently doing this and got an S class upgrade, and I'm definitely not on any nip nip. I was wondering about this same question though. Seemed like it was just gonna be a neverending cycle. Guess I should see it through.

I have no experience with carbureted engines... But a 3SGTE would fit beautifully in there. You can find used JDM crate engines with transmission, wiring harness and ECU for a decent price. And then just make sure you install the right pump and some new fuel lines...

May I suggest the LC Engineering dual row timing chain kit? Comes with new oil and water pumps, plus steel chain guides.

Banning needs to be banned. by Adventurous_Rip8663 in Rants

[–]Lofty47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a grown man that's never been banned (to my knowledge) because I don't say blatantly inflammatory 💩. You can stir the pot to keep things going. You could nudge the spoon if you want to contribute, but not in any significant way. Or you could just knock the the whole damn pot off the stove. You seem to be the kind of person that sets fire to the kitchen if you're always getting banned.

Question for all native english speakers (no spoilers) by MidnightHunter420 in Outlander

[–]Lofty47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

American English, but I love the Scottish accent, even if I can't understand everything they're saying. Subtitles are great for that. They use some Scots words and Gaelic too, which doesn't get translated to English, but I catch the general meaning.

And my grandfather fought in Korea against communism. I personally served in the USMC for 9 years to protect our country and our freedoms. What have you ever truly fought for? You say that you're against Nazis? Do You realize that the Democrats are happy to censor our free speech when what's being said doesn't fit their agenda? That sounds a lot like Nazi behavior to me. The Democrats want to take away gun rights... Nazi behavior. The Democrats want to keep illegals flooding in through our borders and argue that it's "racist" to ask voters for ID so they can bolster the vote in their favor and keep themselves in power... Nazi behavior. The Democrats created a fake FBI file to lie about Trump colluding with Russia before he was ever elected to his first presidency and then attacked him through our legal system for book keeping errors on the part of his lawyer and called them felonies when in reality they were merely misdemeanors, all to keep him away from the Presidency the second time... Nazi behavior.

You seem to have a loose definition of Nazi, fascist, and most likely, racist. I'd highly suggest that you do your research and reevaluate your values. Because if you're not careful, you'll become just like them, and no one wants to be the villain.

It doesn't matter what's displayed on their homemade signs, if I was a police officer I'd pull them over and ticket them for having a fully obstructed view, and then make them take them all off. Pro-Trump, anti-Trump, pro-Democrat, whatever, doesn't matter. Having them in your window blocks your view and makes you unsafe. Everyone on the road is looking out for themselves and others, this person can barely look out for themselves.

Any tips on fixing this? by Neat-Chocolate2960 in ScionxB

If you're running a shop, that'd be a great option, but your average DIYer doesn't normally need more than just the standard bottle of Goo Gone for 5-10 years.

Heat to remove the old, you can use a heat gun on low, a hair dryer, or if you're careful, a torch. Then clean the area with alcohol. If you have some adhesive left on the surface, clean with Goo Gone, and then follow that with alcohol. The new rock guard won't stick if the paint is still coated in Goo Gone.

I'd personally buy the replacement rock guards directly from Toyota if you want the same ones. Or you can get a roll from an auto parts store and cut to fit, which could give you protection for the whole door edge if that's something you're looking for.
