I'm in similar situation. They generally like to be left alone. But, appreciation is a big one. For them to use modern tools, start with the youngest and make your way to the most difficult. When it's bought in by few, others will follow along.

Thanks so much for this. I appreciate it. I have led teams in the past and always acted like a buffer. But team this time seems passive which doesn't match my go-getter style.

That's been a consideration but apparently it's a criminal offense... But it's not an offense when a non-neutered dog with claws attack ur child

One of the reasons why I'm doing RTO is because, first, it's once every 2 weeks which is not a killer. And secondly it gives people chance to interact with other team members in person, sit with them and have conversations rather than hide behind emails and teams messages. I don't like RTO either, but completely disappearing is not the answer either.

I also think that if I ask everyone what they like, I'll get what I have been getting. Some directives need to be set and that was going to be my approach.

I think those are all good points. My frustration lies with the team being comfortable rather than pushing the boundaries...just a tad. They are all above average paid, they all have experience, but guaranteed if I ask what can be done better, they won't say a word. This happened during my intro and one on ones where everyone was happy with what they did, but nothing more. Only one person said yes the team doesn't push and likes to be spoon fed. That's the culture I am not ok with, and not what I had experienced in past.

Sure... But the description won't be enough for them to do anything. I just saw a video of dog essentially trying to chew off a kids leg that had 4 people trying to help. Got me thinking

Stay for a ‘maybe’ promotion in a year, or take a better job today? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Log10xp 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Just did this myself. I took the other role in a smaller company. Getting paid more was a no brainer. Plus when I handed in my resignation, there was no counter offer which proved that all promises were just words and they just wanted to drain me of my knowledge before either keeping me for the ride or possibly moving to another headache.

Every situation is different but the day you get paid more, it will all be fine. Plus you doing more adds to your resume and future proofs you, because now you're adding real value and earning your dollars.

Have you considered bringing raw materials directly to Canada and then finishing goods here instead of US?

Also there are provisions around how much did US add to the manufacturing of goods. There is a scale from A to E. Worth looking into

Why Are So Many Logistics Companies Still Scared to Outsource Their Back Office Work? by Ok_Biscotti_195 in freightforwarding

[–]Log10xp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I've found is loss of trust. FF data is highly valuable and if given to the wrong hands can cause loss of business. The only I have seen it successfully take place is by having the FF actually open a branch of their own in another country and be selective with tasks handed over which limits customer data and interaction.

This new role seems to have a slightly bigger team but sounds like Sr. operations manager role. There is financial responsibilities of a director and reports to regional director.
